We found Sheila's Cottage to offer a decent level of food and service for a holiday destination. It is not world class or best out there, but very good in comparison to the other choices in Ambleside. The menu is pretty standard with a couple of their specialities. Sheila's was a small little door down a side alley that opens up into a large and warm restaurant. They had a diverse range of options on the menu, catering for all prices. Generous portions that came accompanied by fresh steamed veges. A great way to refuel after walking. more

Wow what a beautiful experience, tastefully decorated, cosy and yummy food. Hidden down one of the roads, walked past it by chance.....lucky me. Had mozzarella and tomato sandwich and roast beef sandwich, both top of the line, gr8 presentation, fresh and tasty. Will definitely go again.Best in ambleside. more
