This place closed sept 2013 and replaced by Shills. Different style, different clientele but happy memories of Junipers. Good luck in South Africa.
I met my wife in the lakes 14 years ago, and every year we pass the kids onto my folks and have a weekend break. I like to spend the day walking, back to the hotel, pop on a jacket and head out for a nice meal. I was told of Junipers by my hotel reception, and she sold me... More
I visited this restaurant in June 2013. It has now closed down. The food was average. Looked great though. Quite expensive.
popped in for a cheeky pint and tapas, they hadn't what we wanted so we just ordered spicy wedges,a small basket for 3.50, 10 mins later we were served chips.so a pint of lager,a large glass of wine and a basket of CHIPS almost £15. how can anyone not know the difference between spiced wedges and chips?
My partner and I had a lovely meal here last night. We had booked in advance an 8pm table on a bank holiday Sunday which was a good job as a couple that came in with us who hadn't booked couldn't get a table til 9 so they had the tapas downstairs. The food was really nice, we shared three... More
Just visited this place with my daughter who lives in Whitehaven. Food is excellent. Good portions. Good value for money. The sad thing is that it will soon close down.
I called in here on a Sunday evening with a friend, I had never had Tapa's before but it was excellent and there was more than enough food for us both. All in all the food and drinks were well worth the money and I will go back
This restaurant is on a quiet back street but worth the effort to find it because we had the best meat balls ever tasted. There is a good selection of tapas and the dishes are all very tasty. The owner was very friendly and helpful with the selection.
My wife and I live in the town and visit Junipers fairly regularly, at lunchtimes and evenings. Whilst I have never tried the restaurant (upstairs), the bar area offers great food and is a very nice place to be. Friendly and relaxed with good service.
Excellent coffee, cakes etc. Opportunity to buy their excellent sauces etc. Menu very appealing and upstairs restaurant looks excellent. Staff friendly and efficient. Wide variety of tapas. parking difficult but Sainsbury's is opposite but is pay and display do not get caught out
