i went here in 2001 and loved it, went back recently and it is absolutely awful. I couldnt eat my pasta as it tasted like tomato puree and not very Italian, tasted like something a skint student would make! This is a cosy Italian restaurant with a great atmosphere. The tables are quite closely spaced which assists in achieving an authentic feel to the place. I have always stuck with the traditional pasta dishes which are very tasty. The desserts look very tempting but I've not managed one yet. more

Visited Villa Romana on Saturday at 5.30pm. Waiter informed us that there were only serving pasta and pizza's - failed to tell us that were no starters either. The decor is traditionally italian...reflecting the authentic atmosphere here. The food is high quality at a very reasonable price! What more do you want from a £7 pasta dish...superb, rustic, fresh..... and the service is attentive but not obtrusive!
