Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Popped in for a pre lunch glass of bubbly and got chatting to Philip, the manager. He’s very interesting and knowledgeable about the champagne they stock, and amusing as well. We had a very enjoyable couple of glasses chatting away with him, as to start...with we were the only people in there.More

We have been to this location before and are generally fans of the style of dining and experience. However, the service at the Covent Garden restaurant was absolutely fabulous this weekend past. The staff were helpful and attentive and they also made picking the champagne...really fun and interesting. We had the best time and I need to give a huge shout out to Remi, who kept us informed and made amazing menu recommendations!More

We were given a £60 voucher as a couple's Christmas gift so travelled from Reading to Covent Garden especially. The voucher didn't work at the online shop (no one got back to me about that unfortunately when I enquired). We were not seated to a...table and sat at the counter beside the staff prep area. We knew in advance that the voucher wouldn't go far, the average table was spending £120 for some cheese and a 110ml glass of fizz (125ml is the standard) . We didn't want to exceed the voucher as had the expense of travel etc. We spent £63 on one raclette and three baked camembert (no drinks!) and we weren't blown away nor did we think it was anything exceptional. The staff seemed incompetent, there were only 9-10 tables of 2 people (sometimes 4) and they had 4 staff. Bare in mind there's not much to prepare as most are charcuterie boards, I didn't understand their state of panic other than that the staff were inexperienced. When we came to pay we were kind of accused of having used the voucher (he mixed ours up with someone else's), my husband looked at the printout and said his name wasn't Alex as shown under recipient name. No apology came and customer service is not this guy's forte (he appeared to be the restaurant manager). Shame about this experience, as I wanted to enjoy it and it wasn't nice to the family member who gifted it to us! I won't be returning especially as the menu didn't have the choice I expected and the service was bad at best! They couldn't cut bread either and they couldn't serve people coming into buy bread (one person only bought bread and another champagne!). It astonishing when the place is small and it's not like they're serving complex dishes! The rest of my time in London was fab, so not all was lost!More

Very very busy with the staff admitting they were under staffed, yet continuing to take walk ins. Two hour experience to get through only 3 70ml glasses of champagne and the main server was sadly very flippant about the lack of service. Took 25 mins...to take initial order (even for drinks) and the server even just left a bottle (unopened) on our table without pouring and forgot about us for 15 minutes. Would be ok if less busy but based on this experience, avoid at times when it’s got anyone in there and certainly not the “global institution” it professes to be on the menu.More

Visited Champagne + Fromage for my birthday celebration with my husband. We were 20 minutes late for our reservation, but the manager very kindly managed to accomodate us anyway. The food was delicious as always, recommend the raclette with blue cheese and the fig and...thyme camembert in particular. Had a really lovely champagne to go along with the food. A great evening and will definitely be back.More

I enjoyed this establishment twice. The first time was solo as my husband was in a business meeting. Remi took care of me and was very kind and helpful. I enjoyed myself so much I told my husband and we returned the next day. Remi...was there again and remembered me. He was welcoming to my husband and offered valuable insight into champagne and cheeses. This place is small and that’s one of the reasons I loved it. There is nothing ostentatious about this place. They are kind and grateful for business and I would return again! Thanks Remi! You were a highlight of our very quick trip to London!More

I received an afternoon tea as a gift, and it was amazing, such a new and exciting twist. The house champagne served was crisp with fresh apple tones, we received a beautiful selection of cheese, fresh bread and crackers, and also a choice of desserts....It was a lovely way to while away an hour, and it set us up for a few more drinks. Highly recommend, I booked via phone and it took me a couple of times to get through but eventually Remi took my booking, and I’m glad he did.More

This is a jewel for champagne lovers. The owner Rémi is an enthusiast who has a truly impressive collection of champagnes and cheeses. Not the most expensive and well known champagnes, but carefully chosen mid-priced bubbles. And the owner will share his knowledge if you...want to know more. We loved it!More

Delicious & Delightful! We had identified C&F as a must do prior to arriving in Covent Garden for the week, and a great choice it was. Phil and Remi provided superb service and delightful banter. Their meat and cheese slections were delicious - we stopped...in mid-day to enjoy the fare while reviewing the walk about of the day. We enjoyed the shop 3 times in one week. A great spot to linger, chat, share fabulous bubbly drink - never felt rushed or hurried to move along. Thank you.More

Perfect place for pre theatre dinner. We had the gastro board, a bottle of red, followed by champagne cocktails. Remi and his colleague were enthusiastic and welcoming - a memorable experience.

This is a Covent Garden gem that is unique and intimate. The chef makes excellent dishes from the tartines and camembert to the beautiful fig, walnut and goat cheese salad. The staff is helpful, charming and knowledgeable especially Philip and Remi. There are tables outside...to eat and drink along Wellington and people watch. Inside is quaint and intimate which is a relief from the hustle and bustle of Covent Gardens. Highly recommend! A real french treat.More

This place is very close to the Lyceum Theatre so you have the opportunity to sit outside and enjoy a drink maybe before going into the theatre. Overall we found the champagne was well below par and the price was highly inflated for a small...glass of fizz!More
