This is a lovely little place in Brixton market offering cheese, cold meat platters and wine. We had the fondue which was delicious. There is a good selection of wines. Service was excellent. Highly recommended.

Went in to enjoy a glass of champagne whilst Christmas shopping In Brixton Market. But was told they were too busy to serve me a glass. Despite empty tables outside and inside. Disappointing
We had dinner a few days ago and e joyed really really well. From the drinks to starters to msi meals to desserts
Great service, good food and friendly staff. Didn't have to wait long for service/food delivery.
Great place, really interesting concept The food was amazing, I m a chef so I have high standard when is about food Got serve by rose, one of the best service i ever received and she knows her staff
The food and drinks was amazing and the staff are friendly and kind. Chesse and Proseco don't sound nice but it was good, I'll be back again soon.
What a place The ambience is amazing as are the staff! Their new food menu is amazing especially the new tartines and the Mac and cheese option with pancetta is to die for!
We recently went on the recommendation of friends who have lived in London for a long time and who always spoke very highly of this place. In fact, they were right: a great atmosphere, a touch of novelty in the French bistro style and, above...all, a winning formula at a fair price. we tried the raclette (very generous) paired with a double round of champagne, rosé included, with a truffle tartine that was truly to die for. A must-try for the friendly atmosphere and attentive, fast service. We recently went on the recommendation of friends who have lived in London for a long time and who always spoke very highly of this place. Located in the heart of Brixton Village, the name of this place immediately drew us in and we weren’t disappointed. It consists of both a bistro and shop, with a number of provisions available to take away. Staff were friendly and helpful, and brought us...a jug of water whilst we perused the menu. We opted for a couple of glasses of champagne, which are served in very small 110ml sizes. I didn’t even realise that was a legal measure. They were though, in a tall and very slender glass, which made it look somewhat less meagre. To eat we opted for the sharing platter and this consisted of a good selection of cheese, cold meats, cornichons and pickle, as well as a basket of bread on the site. All together I quite liked it here, and would happily pop in again if passing.More
we really enjoyed our visit to champagne + fromage. the champagne was delicious and paired really nicely with the cheese selection we ordered. the honey and rosemary camembert was amazing. (the only criticism was the service was quite slow and they did forget our truffle...chips we we had to ask for twice)More
Genuinely appalled and insulted by the "customer service" - even the word customer seems a stretch when we were treated like an inconvenience for merely showing up and politely asking for dinner in exchange for money. Subjected to a bizarre attitude as soon as we...arrived, meaning we were so uncomfortable we only ordered 1 raclette plate and a glass of wine as we wanted to scarper ASAP for a real dinner - one where we could feel respected as human beings and treated like paying customers. Waiter asked if we wanted to split the bill without showing it to us to check. Being trusting we paid - to find he had charged for an extra raclette plate! £13 for something we did not order, and certainly did not receive. We really had to try to flag his attention to get him back to actually show us our bill. After we saw what he was clearly trying to hide, he tried to claim we asked for two plates. We reminded him he came back to check our order (it wasn't written down) of one plate, and that we only received one plate. Side point it was tiny (to the point we thought more was coming out) and we left starving. He then tried to claim he could only refund one of us - not sure what glitch in technology could explain that - but we were so desperate to leave we stayed polite and just went with it. Separately, we were sassily told we couldn't sit in the warm sheltered area as it was 'booked' even though no one showed up. Another sad thing is this place seems pretty famous in the market for being awful, as we spoke to other customers after escaping. The customer service being comparable to what rats in prison get was universal - but even more shockingly other customers said this place tries to rip people off by serving them whatever cheese they have leftover - not necessarily what it says on the menu. After seeing their working style and experiencing the attempted ripping off first hand, this seems very probable. Maybe one or two of these issues would have been ok, but the combination sprinkled with the horrendous attitude was really just unacceptable. Never left a 1 star review in my life but this place needs to be called out.More
Hi - we're sorry about your unpleasant experience - you're right, this is not good enough. The good news is that we had a major makeover and now our bistro is beautiful as expected with warm, funky ambience and plenty of seats inside, open from...More
How was the cheese - no idea. How was the fizz - no idea. Didn’t get to try either as neither arrived before we finally gave up after 35 mins. Completely ignored on arrival and then when finally seated no one came with menus. Had...to go in and then was challenged on whether we’d asked anyone if we could sit - yes we asked you 5 mins ago and you’ve completely forgotten. Finally ordered, and then waited, and waited, and waited. Final straw was when the table next to us asked for their next glass of wine and it was brought out within 1 minute. Gave up and left. The place did look very nice, hopefully next customers have a better experience than us.More

Very expensive but a very nice cosy place, good vibes. Felt very Parisian and also the cheese was to die for. Service was great. The thing that irks me is when you advertise something as bottomless it should be bottomless not bottomless until you’ve had...more than they want to give and set a 1:30hr time limit that it doesn’t state anywhere. When we’ve had extras and 2 bottles of wine and paid over £200 it is rather disappointing to be told no more put a dampener on an otherwise would’ve been 5* experience.More

Champagne & Fromage Came here for lunch. A pretty interesting venue - half shop half restaurant/cafe. I picked a lunch set meal, French onion soup, salade a chocolate desert and a hot drink. The food - the soup and the desert - were really tasty....However, whilst eating the salade I found it contained small pieces of meat, which I don't eat. I sent it back and pointed out that there was no mention of meat in the set lunch part of the menu. I was brusquely told that the part of the menu that I had not selected from made mention of meat. They reluctantly agreed that it wasn't right that I receive a salad with meat when the menu didn't say it had meat. They agreed to replace it with a meatless salad. That eventually returned, and I started eating again. I must confess that the salad and dress was really tasty ... then I found meat in the salad. It was clear that instead of making me a new meat-free salad, they had simply used their fingers to pick the meat out of the salad, and of course they missed some. I again spoke to them and they agreed to take it back and not charge me. There was no apology for this appalling return of the food that had an ingredient I don't eat. The terribly lax approach to menu accuracy and their attitude that they can use their fingers to try and pick all the meat out and send me back the same salad made with an ingredient I don't eat (and still containing that ingredient) is simply unacceptable. I left and will never return. NEVER.More

The cheese was super safe, fairly generic and subtle in flavour. The accompanying jam would be better served with a brie or a camembert but completely overpowered the light comte. The Champaign was overly sweet, coated my teeth with sugar and tasted nothing like Champaign....If I’m honest, I’m fairly sure we were drinking Prosecco. The portion sizes were minuscule and far smaller than you’d expect from a cheese board. With the exception of the jam (which was plentiful on the plate), there were no other accompaniments. The menu was confused, the cheese being sold £3 for one, £9.50 for three and £15 for five. It seems a little unusual to impose a surcharge for larger orders! To top it off, the service was awful. With four staff members behind the bar and us being one of two tables seated, I still had to get our knives and folks from an empty table following the cheese being served. The strangest thing of all is that this place has many good reviews, which is in complete contrast to my experience, the number of people in the restaurant (two couples on a Friday evening) and the availability of tables for booking (ie whenever you want one).More
