My sister and I had dinner at Marcus Wareing at the Berkeley during our recent European holiday. What a wonderful experience! Food and service were outstanding and we were lucky enough to see Marcus also. Highly recommended as a special place to eat. more

Went to Marcus Wareing at the Berkeley mainly because we are 'Sandgrounders' (people born and bred in Southport) and Marcus is also a Sandgrounder himself. We wanted to see a local boy who has made his mark well and truly on the eating front. We were not disappointed. We had a superb lunch, yes, it was expensive but I would... more

Awesome, although the first course in the tasting menu didn't work. Service was flawless and the wine outstanding. more

This does come with a hefty price tag but for a special occiasion its definitely worth it. The waiting staff took great care of us and... more

But we found that this place is not quite comparable to its previous incarnation as Petrus. Still, the ambience, atmosphere and service is as sybaritic and unctious as one would expect from such an establishment.... more

Sublime! The tasting menu must be the finest culinary experience available in England at present - each dish is a faultless example of outstanding cooking and is a true delight to the palate. The only weak aspect of the food is the cheeseboard which, although it offered a wide selection of cheeses only had three blue cheeses on the evening... more

Eventually getting around to writing review of this establishment which we visited in January 2009 - Now Marcus Wareing at the Berkeley. We travel annually to London - specifically to eat and try new restaurants. There is no point in trying to recall what we ate - apart from we had the tasting menu with wine accompaniements. Food was average... more
