Description: Neighbour to The Photographers Gallery on the cusp of Covent Garden and Soho, Salvador and Amanda is the latest blissed-out bar from the reliably funky Breakfast Group. Calling itself as a Bar Y Tapas Y Fiesta (that's snacks and Balearic beats until the toddler hours to you and me), it offers a distinctive rustic, 'Real Spain' inspired interior by Paul Daly of Elbow Rooms and Lab fame. Naturally, it's packed to the sombreros with young professionals, but it isn't at all pretentious - a glance at the large bull-fight posters tell you that. In keeping with the general feel, classic Spanish tapas such as mini de pepito concebolla (steak and onion in toasted roll) form the backbone of the menu. But read on - the descriptions tell your tastebuds all they need to know: clams in sherry with ham, spider crab tortilla, paella croquettes...Should you find out who Salvador and Amanda are, do let us know. We think they must be a pretty cool pair.

The pre theatre deal is a set menu which is limited. The calamari was overwhelmingly salty and the tortilla wedge microwaved as there were cold spots. The chicken wrapped in Palma ham was small but okay however it was served with limp frozen chips and an overdressed green salad. I am surprised Discount Theatre use this place as it was... More

I went here with a friend last week and we had a lovely evening. We got there at around 5:30 for some drinks first and it was empty but it soon got busy after 6pm. The service was good and our waiter attentive. The sangria cocktails were delicious and definitely worth returning for! The food was good, not amazing but... More

Badly prepared Spanish food with small portions. Even the pre-theatre special at ver low cost isn't worth it. Look around, the West End has many other places to eat...

We loved this restaurant! Visited the Holburn restaurant twice on our trip to London. Amazing tapas, excellent service and a great buzz. Just love it.

Arrived and was greeted at the door but then went down 2 flights of stairs to the restaurant. Staff very friendly and attentive. Just a 2 course meal but very good quality and tasty. Spanish based naturally (see restaurant name - Salvador Dali and etc). Very popular and was crowded when we left at 7:30pm.

As a Spaniard with an foody Brit, we found the food to be disappointing and expensive. The waiting staff were inexperienced, arrogant and pushy, reading back the orders in English to obvious Spanish speakers and constantly interupting the meal by trying to oversell food and drinks; it felt like being in the Ryan Air flight from London to Madrid.. The... More

For what we wanted it was fine. We were a group of 'mother hens' out celebrating the forthcoming wedding of one of the group. There was a muddle with our prebooked table (happened at previous venue also - not our night!) The staff were apologetic and gave us a couple of bottles of wine as a gesture of good will.... More

I came to this restaurant a second time as after the first experience I had i left with a mixed conclusion. I felt the only option was to go back with an open mind and no expectations. Upon my second visit, again I found the food average and the the staff very rude. The food is very expensive for what... More

Went for dinner, ordered food to share between 3 of us and it was really good - tasted wonderful and there was plenty of it. The staff were organised and we were looked after very well. i really liked the look and feel of the restaurant, although if i was going to criticize anything it would be the lighting, it... More
