Top food . Specials were delicious. Fish was fresh and tasty. Good friendly service. Very quaint place
Does what it says on the tin, we had the Fish & Chip special including bread and butter and a cup of tea/coffee at around £7.50. Lovely fresh food, comfortable restaurant, great value, almost as cheap as having a take away, and on the nicer side of the town over the bridge.

We visit Mr Chips every time we visit Whitby; don't bother with the restaurant though, only the take away. Mr Chips supply alternative species of fish such as Panga or Hake. Panga is our prefered option, absolutely delicious. Panga needs to be ordered when you arrive, the staff give you a shout when it's ready. You don't need to queue,... More

My wife said that the sweet was the best that she had ever had, I agree. A good selection of New Zealand wine. Mr Chips - keep up the high... More
Ate here twice last week and thoroughly enjoyed it .Great choice besides excellent fish and chips. We also went to the Magpie but won't return while Mr Chips is turning out this quality and un-rushed service.

At the Magpie they were queuing right down the street and probably taking telephone bookings as well. At Mr Chips you get Giant Haddock with a pot of tea... More
