I really don't know where to begin with this review. I thought Fawlty towers was only a tv programme.
It all started when we arrived. As soon as we walked in the door the welcome mate was grubby, the floors looked like they haven't been...cleaned in weeks.
As we entered we could see in the gents toilets, hand towels empty & hanging, tissue all over the floor, mirror all splashed. The Ladies wasn't know better.
As we entered the restaurant there were scruffy papers all over the bar, boxes everywhere. It's like they wasn't open. The floors again needed cleaning, cobwebs.
Staff with no shoes on, short skirts.
Honestly I thought it was a joke. We couldn't believe it. Half of the tables were set up, others empty.
We were going to eat but judging by the cleanliness we decided against it. We just had a drink in the garden which was lovely.
I really couldn't believe people were eating in this place. We here the chef is well
known locally & talented. But we defo wouldn't return without the place being deep celaned. The ambience really needs addressing, flowers, candles. Something to make the toilets feel better.
Good luck. Hope Sybil & Basil are going strong.More
