I was initially sceptical about the concept, but have become a regular after my first visit. The food has been consistently good, the service prompt and efficient. There was one occasion when my food was delayed but the manager was apologetic and took off the cost of our drinks from the bill. Worth keeping an eye on their website, as... more

I ate at Tamatanga on the back of the plaudits and awards it had won. Our food was bland and lacking in texture or flavour. My chicken tikka wrap looked like it had been liquadised or was from a tin as it was unrecognisable compared to the same dish in say somewhere like Tayyabs in Whitechapel. Lets be honest Indian... more

The food is very good Indian food and very good value. Close to 'Desi' (homestyle) indian food served in an informal and relaxed environment (for me personally, a better than Wagamamma vibe - the seating arrangements are perfectly fine and lend to the friendly tone, with child friendly options). The restaurant was much improved on a previous visit where the... more

Came here as a last resort as Nottingham city centre seems to be devoid of any traditional curry houses, and wanted to avoid the usual fayre of Pizza Express, Subway, etc. OK for somewhere trendy to be seen if you're a young, urban twenty-something, but an absolute no-no if you want a quiet table for two: we were offered a... more

We have been alerted to the fact that this review is likely to have been submitted by a rival establishment in Nottingham, and so would ask readers not to take it too seriously. As always, the best thing to do is try us out yourselves!

After hearing a number of opinions about the restaurant, I thought i may aswell do the place justice and try it for myself...and dissapoint I was not!! We decided to opt for the takeaway and believe me it was second to none. Paneer kebabs and Paneer Makhni, with the freshest naans i've ever had. Their timing was spot on and... more

I gave this place a bad review in January. I went again this evening, and the service was much better. I had the thali which is good value, and very generous. The quality of the food is comparable with the best 'Indian' restaurants in Nottingham (Laguna, Memsaab), but not any better. It's a very different style, though more

An Indian Wagamama! Format OK, we shared a table with another couple sitting on the opposite side which wasn't bad, not as instrusive as I expected. Not sure how it works when the tables are full though. One comment is that they could do with a heat rating on the curry bowls - if there was one on the menu... more

Visiting Nottingham school hols and stumbled across this fantastic contempary eating house. With two teenage children in tow one vegetarian, with a wide range of meals to suit us all. Food was served by friendly and helpful staff, Sunday early evening after a hectic drive from Kent we were greeted, seated and truly impressed with the whole experience. Only one... more

The food at Tamatanga was superb. I ate there three times and loved it all. There is another Indian restaraunt in Nottingham that may have some dishes which were better that I also ate at but their prices were higher and the ambience too dressy for a casual dining experience. Tamatanga has a fun atmosphere. Service was good and if... more
