I have eaten here three times and never been dissapointed. It is a little off the beaten track so you need to know it exists, but many do and it is always busy - a must to book! We went to Pierre Victoire having read the trip advisor reviews and we weren't disappointed. The food is excellent - my husband had the "french" steak which was great and for any cheese lovers the cheese board is a must. I had a bouillabaisse which was also really good. We visited this restaurant on Saturday night and we hade a very nice meal. We did book three weeks in advance, which is advisable. It was very busy. The staff worked hard and the food was good. They also served the best bottle of house red that I have ever tasted, and less than £12 a bottle. more

Menu offers a good range of bistro dishes and if you eat early or late the value is exceptional. Food was very nicely presented and good if not exceptional Service was very friendly and tho' I had to chase up a couple of items the relaxed but busy atmosphere compensated. more

Can only agree with all the other reviews - Pierre Victoire is a real find, offering a simple but interesting French menu, friendly service and a pleasant, buzzy atmosphere. The food is at least up to the standard of most gastro-pubs, and crucially, at a time when funds are tight, you won't come out feeling ripped off. Recommended. more

Great restaurant. We spent two nights in Oxford and went to this restaurant twice in the evening. Food is excellent, house wine great, service friendly and the prices very reasonable. I loved the fish cakes (starter), smoked haddock with spinach (main dish) and mussels (a lot of it!). Nice bread. I would go there again and again. more

I was looking for somewhere which would give us a memorable meal after our son's graduation. It lived up to our expectations and recommendations. The waitresses were friendly and efficient and the restaurant is clearly well run. The food was good and all our party were pleased.
