I think the Milestone is the only place in Sheffield that can truly call itself a gastro-pub and has the same laid back but semi-formal approach to alot... more

small portions, but great food and atmosphere more

Went on a bank holiday and the kitchen struggled to cope but complimentary drinks helped the slow service. Nice bread and olive oil but should be free and had no olives ( how do you run out of them?). Mains portions were small but well cooked and presented. Worth a look but avoid busy times. more

The only shortcoming was the fact that the atmosphere was somewhat marred by a very large group arriving making normal volume conversation quite hard - but this was acknowledged by the waiter and apologised for. If this hadn't happened we would have said the experience was excellent - we would thoughrily recommend the place and definately will return - delicious... more

I have been to the milestone quite a few times, the food is amazing and the way it changes makes you try something new and leaves you gagging for more of it, the portions are ideal,giving you room for pudding (I recommend the chocolate fondant) the upstairs is great for a special occasion and the bisto downstairs has the relaxed... more

We had Friday lunch there in November - good starters then 'posh' fish and chips. We ate downstairs in the Bistro. The food was excellent and the service and atmosphere first class. With (non-alcoholic) drinks the bill came to just under £35 for two - not cheap but a good enough standard to justify it this close to the city... more

I absolutey love this place, stylish decor, great staff, brill atmosphere and above all the food is absolutely fantastic. The price you pay for food of this standard is pocket change. I had the indian omlette one morning, highly recommended, just the right texture and spice, this is definitely one recipe I will be trying at home. The menu changes... more
