We visited during the Christmas market on a Saturday evening. The market was so full we couldn't move. Luckily we had booked a table early evening so withdrew to La Barrique via a nearby pub. The food was very good indeed, the service excellent and we couldn't fault it. Ordering the little plates, there are always going to be some... more

A lovely French bistro that serves top quality food in a tapas style. A really good choice of food all top quality served by lovely staff. We had 6 dishes between us with a bottle of wine, £50 was godd value and we would certainly go back. more

We stayed in Bath for the weekend recently and visited Bistro La Barrique after reading the Trip Advisor and several recommendations from friends. It really is well worth a visit, the atmosphere was great, very warm and relaxing, with a unique mediteranean feel. The food and service was the best we had in Bath and excellent value for money. The Petite... more

Dined here for the first time couple nights ago. We love trying as many dishes as possible when dining out, so their 'petit plats' format worked very well for us. For the two of us, we had: mushroom flan, foie gras ballotine, mussels, gambas, potato gratin, rabbit stew, creamed spinach. And creme brulee and cheese cake for dessert. The mushroom... more

I was lucky enough to eat in La Barrique over the Bank Holiday and would thoroughly recommend the restaurant. The food was of a very high quality and I really enjoyed being able to choose smaller (but still very filling) dishes, some of which I shared with my partner. It would be great if more restaurants offered this type of... more

Unlike the previous contributor my family and I had a really wonderful evening at Bistro La Barrique. On arrival we were introduced to Michel the very charming owner who explained the very novel way in which the restuarant works. Rather than deliberating for hours over which starter and main course to have this restuarant lets you have them all! Rather... more

we ordered starters and mains from the chalkboard. With sides. All was served at the same time! "That is our formula". I would say: that is nonsense. Only brainless and clueless staff can do this. The quality of the food: not bad, but also: lacking all refinement. With 80 pounds lighter we cannot say that we got value for money.... more

Despite being very empty, the welcome we received from Michel, the owner, was quite charming. Like the previous reviewer, we ordered escargots, and sea bass, which were both excellent. I would be happy to back there any day. more

My wife and I had the good fortune to dine at Michel Lemoine's new restauarant in Bath. Every mouthfull was sublime and although portions of petit plats were small as were desserts this was reflected in the price in comparison to competing restauarants in Bath so I cannot bicker. We had snails and foie gras followed by two sea bass.... more

Went there last week for a snack lunch following the reviews on trip advisor. The venison sausage and beetroot and the goatscheese plats were excellent but the vegetarian options were tasteless and bland, still there s not much you can do with aubergine risotto, maybe use a better stock base? good choice of wines by the glass and attentive service. We... more
