We treat ourselves to a night out at the Moon and Sixpence on special occasions. It is fairly pricey compared to most other restaurants in Bath but the food really is very good. Decor and location are great and normally the waiting staff are very engaging, polite and well educated. Would highly recommend to those looking for somewhere special! more

We visited on Thursday 10th December - We were a walk in at around 7pm and got a table after a 25 minute wait in the lovely upstairs bar - For a pint of German Weissbeer beer you were looking at £4, wine around £5 for a house white - The table downstairs was nice and intimate, candle on the... more

To be fair, we arrived without a reservation,on what we thought would be a fairly quiet Monday lunchtime ( 1300 ) From the bar area there were several empty tables, however, when asked ,the " barman " if that was indeed his job description, almost shouted that they were fully booked and even were we to return at 1415 he could'nt say whether... more

The title says it all - high-end food, cooked to perfection and service by friendly, chatty and enthusiastic staff (who also knew when to step away and when to share a few words). The food is way better than the prices would suggest, simply wonderful. more

Booked for dinner. The menu looked good but the food didn't come up to expectations., and was overpriced. The atmosphere and premises are very nice but we were rushed through the meal - we were presented with the bill, asked whether we wanted a taxi etc before we had even finished the wine! Overall a great disappointment. more

When we arrived at The Moon and Sixpence we decided to wait for my sister and her husband in the bar. When I asked what wines they had by the glass that weren't Chardonnay was gruffly told either a Chilean Sauvignon or Sancerre (two choices?? Hard to believe) I opted for Sancerre (scarily £9 for 250ml) which was when tasted... more

We came across this place by chance but were so glad we did. They accommodated four of us at late notice including our friend's wheelchair. All of us felt the food was excellent, the drinks list was also very good and the friendly and genuine service from Keiran topped it off nicely. Approx £40 each for 2 courses including drinks... more

I've been here 3 times, once quite recently. It is upscale yuppie food, well prepared & tasty, maybe slightly over-priced but you are also paying for the location. The music is a bit intrusive but the old buildings are lovely & romantic and the new rehab / build out is fantastic with huge amounts of glass & many more tables... more
