We have recently returned from a long weekend in Bath, and I really wanted to eat in this "famous little place.". We had walked past it during the day & the queue was coming out of the door, so lunch was off the menu. However, on returning in the evening we looked inside & could see spare tables - so... more

This lovely old house in historic Bath certainly does not deserve to have 3 floors crammed full of tables and punters being fleeced for a taste of the famous Sally Lunn's Bun ( a glorified white roll). Disapointing in the least. Tables were so close together that there was very little room for waiters and waitresses and customers to squeeze... more

We've been going to Sally Lunn's for over ten years, and it's always a ritual stop whenever we come to Bath on our annual shopping trip. Full of olde world charm and character, it's a cosy alternative to some of Bath's more grandiose establishments such as the disappointing Pump Room. Not exactly haute cuisine, but good quality fayre. If you... more

didnt quite get the 'trencher style' way of eating, this means your meal is served on a big bit of bread which soaks up all the juices. I dont like bread! Food was 'no frills'. nice cozy atmospehere, but 1 waitress was nice the other was horrible. more

I took my parents from abroad for lunch at this 'oldest restaurant in Bath' during our travel around England that started in London. I wanted my parents to enjoy traditional British food in the 'oldest restaurant', but, sadly, our first lunch outside London turned out to be a terrible experience: 1. The table we were seated was covered with bread... more

Surprisingly cheap and tasty but didn't get hit by the 'history'. Buns not scones, but huge buns, half is just fine Worth a trip! more

Advertised as the oldest building in Bath and serving a unique bun, one just has to go check it out. Yes, it was good, but not amazing. See if you can get a half price 2 for 1 voucher off First Great Western - the railway people. Then it is great value. more

As a disabled customer in a wheelchair I found the help and hospitality offered to myself and my wife was first class! The food was superb and I would recommend anyone visiting Bath visits Sally Lunns. more

A Sally Lunn bun is a taste you will never forget. Worth queueing to get inside the small coffee shop. Delicious! more

I am currently feeling the combined effects of severe disappointment and an upset stomach, after dining at the famous Sally Lunn's a few hours ago. After hearing great things about this place, I was eager to experience it. My advice: don't be fooled as I was. The service was unfriendly, the food poor (a piece of bread smothered in rasberry... more

I would have preferred to correspond with the reviewer directly but sadly no response has been forthcoming to my 2 requests. We feel this review is unfair and inaccurate. To link an upset stomach within a few hours of eating a toasted sweet snack is not medically possible. The tea we serve is loose tea (not tea bags) and is...
