Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We had a party of 17 and not many places will accomadate a large booking. We sat in the conservatory area and had a few toddlers too so it was perfect. We were asked to pre order the mains.. The meals were delicious service /staff...brilliant. We will visit again soon.More

First visit as we are not local to the area unfortunately we will not be returning the tables and menus were Sticky ! So were the menus. I have been a vegan for nearly 40 years and I have to say it was the worst...meal I have ever been served . The staff never asked if any of the 6 of us had any allergies and when my husband asked for vegan options he was given a menu with green sticky tape on the vegan option which is a pie well a patty type mound in an undercooked piece of puff pastry definitely not with the £14 on a positive the chips were hot . So glad I live in the West Midlands they have good food establishments and plenty of places that offer plant based diets ….More

First time visiting this pub with my son, daughter-in-law and the gran children. First impression was the table was very sticky (seems to be a theme here) and the menu's looked like the dogs had been playing with them. My wife is vegan so chose...the Vegan Pie. I joined her as in most, if not all places we've been to, the vegan food is fab. Let me say this Vegan Pie was the worst vegan meal I have ever had by a country mile. It supposed to be a filo pastry covering a 'no chicken' centre product. The filo pastry was damp and the 'no chicken' centre was tasteless and a solid lump of something disgusting. I raised the disappointment with the staff but they just apologised. For £14 what a rip-off. My min concern is whoever in the company selected this product and thought it was acceptable to serve really hasn't tasted the product and has no awareness of what vegan food can aspire to be.More

Came here after asking Apple Maps for a recommendation. Really nice friendly pub with plenty of parking and a nice atmosphere. We both got the fish and chips, so I can’t comment on anything else, but it was excellent! Dog friendly too, just make sure...you go to the dogs-allowed area. We stayed for ages, and the staff were fantastic. i live out of town but I would definitely come again.More

Booked in advance for a New Years Eve meal and given a booking for 7.30pm. On arrival was shown to the reserved table and told that they had stopped serving the meal at 7.00pm. But, they could offer us cheesy chips and a bowl of...Tacco crisps. We had booked for a proper meal, the booking was originally done in person and taken by the manager. The staff seemed to not care about the situation or the booking made, just repeated that they had stopped serving meals.More

We haven’t visited The Wilbraham Arms for quite a few years as we have had a couple of awful meals in the past. However, we were advised to try them again as the food now was very good. We made an appointment for last night...and were greeted by a pleasant waitress who took our order for drinks and the meals. We asked if the food was all homemade and she confirmed that it was, i.e. pies etc. We all had different meals and they were all very tasty, hot and well presented. In fact my husband who loves steak pies said it was the best he had had in a restaurant and all the other friends we were with agreed that the food was very good and that we would all come back. It had been mentioned in previous reviews that the tables were sticky and we did find and remarked about this ourselves. Would we go back, yes, we have booked for this coming Friday for a birthday celebration.More

We booked in for Sunday lunch and hoped it would be good! Food was okay but the tables were disgustingly sticky! Couldn’t lift or slide the plates without effort! Seriously bad. Pointed out to the waitress who said sorry! Not good enough.

First time visiting this pub. Should have been concerned when theres a sign saying do not remove your tops! Was surprised at the price of drinks given the quality of the place they were expensive. Went to sit down and although it was only 5...pm all tables had reserved in them. We found a table as were told we could use it for a short amount of time. Table was so sticky my purse, drink and menu all stuck to it! Decided enough was enough and went elsewhere. Will not be returningMore

Food is very good and great value. My husband loves the gammon there. I usually have the salmon. The lager is a bit expensive though so that is why I have only given 4 stars

First time we'd tried this pub even though we had driven past many times. It has a large carpark and plenty of outdoor tables ands seating should the weather allow. Inside, the pub is perfectly OK but not startling. We had good standard pub food...at reasonable prices and the staff were efficent and friendly. So, I can't quite rate this as'Very Good', but it's perfectly good food at a good priceMore

Went for carvery. It’s ok. Tables were sticky, menus also sticky, so didn’t get a very clean feeling. Carvery was minimal- only selection of veg was carrots and green beans. Staff were lovely, but Woudlnt return

Been going here for many years and usually don’t have a problem but went for the carvery today, booked a table earlier in the week, the table we were sat at was right in the area reserved for those eating with their 4 legged friends,...nothing wrong with that except I’m allergic to dogs! Spoke to one of the serving staff, explained the problem and asked if we could move, he went to the manager and was told no other tables available and did we still want to stay, we moved seats so I was sat furthest away from the dogs and a lovely couple moved their dog as far away as possible. We had our meal and left, normally we would have stayed had a coffee or other drink but not today, needed to get out ASAP as my chest was starting to get tight. This somewhat spoilt our day as now at home trying to recover. Surely now with dogs being allowed when booking a table the question should have been asked if sittings near the dog area would be alright. I can’t be the only person who is allergic to animals and knowing it wasn’t just a preference but a medical need the management could have done something. We all enjoy a meal there but it will be a while before we go again and then we will request a table away from the dog areaMore
