Having eaten in both the Maison Bleu in Bury St Edmunds and the Great House within the last month we prefer this. The food is better, the service and surroundings are perfect in this medievil building. We stayed for three nights on the mid-week break deal, £100 per person/night for dinner, bed and breakfast. It was wonderful value. We had dinner at the great house last Friday & it was fantastic. The Good Bits. Tasty food, prepared and presented with care. Highlights were monkfish, veal sweetbreads, lovely chocolate tart, interesting ice cream and sorbet flavours. The Bad.
