This is a really nice old world pub which had some live music on when we were there(Saturday)which was a bit folky. As with moat of the pubs in and around the market area it was serving good Ales. More

Visited with partner and aged mother. Very accommodating in terms of a small portion of food for mother and well prepared food using locally sourced /grown produce. Friendly owner and locals!! More

Visited twice over a weekend visit to Woodbridge. First night I thought was great and the food one both occasions was excellent and I cannot fault it. However, the atmosphere is very quirky (to use a polite word). I didnt notice it too much the first night I was tired from the journey but my husband did but said nothing... More

We were visiting woodbridge for the weekend and was recommended to visit this pub!! I had an amazing meal, pan-fried hake was to die for!! Its lovely to see such beautiful pub and landlords who know how to have a laugh! For anyone who visits Woodbridge should definately come in and try the food, the chef (young asian lad) is... More

Dear John, Thank you very much for your positive review, we really do value all customer feedback, however it is always a pleasure to receive such a glowing report. However, we understand that we need to maintain the high standards that we have set ourselves, it is all too easy to become complacent. Siggi and I are delighted that you... More

we discovered this great pub whilst strolling around lovely Woodbridge during a recent short holiday. Warm welcome from the landlord, great game pie and fresh beer-battered cod made for an excellent lunch stop in this historic place! More

Dear Steve, Thanks for writing such a nice review about our pub, it's always encouraging to receive such praise. However, it makes us mindful that we cannot afford to let standards drop, even for a minute. You chose our two most popular dishes and we are so pleased that you enjoyed them - I will pass your comments onto Siggi... More

Have eaten here several times and love this place. Brought friends with us recently and they reckon to have had the best fish and chips ever! Food is really excellent, tastes like home and good portions.Beers are good too Governor is great to banter with - very dry humour. More

Thank you for taking time to write a review of our pub. Siggi and I truly value the feedback that we get from customers. Such praise is a wonderful thing and affirms that, in the main, we are getting it right. Equally important is objective critique to show where we can improve. We really appreciate the repeat visits and were... More

It's been a while since I put finger to keyboard to comment on, what is in my opinion, the iconic English Pub that has managed to maintain a welcoming atmosphere and at the same time keeping up to date. The food is still Sigi's proper pub grub and her very special German dishes, but with the new chef, Shoff, there... More

You are too kind! Repeat business is the lifeblood of any organisation. It is all too easy to take your cutomers for granted, particularly when so many are such great company and keep coming back for more. We have to be very careful not to fall into that trap. Thank you for your kind words and for your continued support,... More

I visit the Bell and Steelyard every time I am in Woodbridge. There a more than a few pubs in Woodbridge but this is the only one I use. Once you find perfection why go any further? The staff are friendly and the food is fantastic and not over priced. I can recomend this pub to any visitors of the... More

As a regular visitor to Woodbridge I've been here a few times now because I keep giving them yet another chance... but every time it's the same... The best way to describe it is awkward. There's often bickering going on - the landlady once even tried to drag me into an arguement she was having with her husband! Not good..... More

Thank you very much for your candid comments, which came as complete shock to us. Siggi and I are truly sorry that you do not enjoy the atmosphere in our pub and are extremely concerned that you were made to feel awkward in any way. Over the last three years we have worked extremely hard to create a relaxed homely... More
