Upon arrival we had a drink in the bar area which was small but nice.....a waitress then placed menu on table without any discussion of what menu we could chose from or what the menu was all about. The wine was nice but ......VERY EXPENSIVE!!!!! mark up ridiculous. it was a nice meal .....great food but the service wasnt very... more

Our favourite Friday destination (every Friday unless out of the country) and we have yet to be disappointed. The food is carefully and locally sourced, beautifully cooked to order and well presented. The service is good but discreet and the well chosen live music creates a good unintrusive atmosphere to the meal. In London we love the Ivy and The Cherrytree... more

I've made 3 visits primarily to enjoy the music which is superb jazz without being 'way out'. The music is as easy to digest as the food which tops anything I've experienced outside of the West End and quite a few in the capital. The dishes are imaginative and invariably served in a mouth-watering sauce that puts it nicely in... more

Six of us had a meal here on Sat Oct 3 09. Had a great night. I liked the menu, could have chosen several dishes. All my chosen courses were excellent and our whole party enjoyed the food. This is an upmarket restautant with an excellent ambience and friendly but not too friendly staff. more

We have used this restaurant several times and have never been disappointed. The food is excellent and is not overpriced. The service is attentive without being intrusive. The decor and entertainment add to the overall enjoyment of an evening out in what we consider to be the best restarant in town by some distance. more

Have been twice - once as guest of owner so would expect that to be good, - which it was. Excellent fish soup and great dessert. Duck perhaps a little disappointing but my wife who has a much better palate loved all three courses. Previous visit also very good. No problems with service as some seem to have had -... more

We booked a table after hearing good reviews. The ambiance is lovely, a live guitarist added to the relaxed mood and the place is very clean. The food was very average, and in my opinion, not worth the price. The menu is over dominated with fish, so I ordered the lemon sole with a lobster butter, but there was a... more

My girlfriend and I I read the reviews posted on this site before I decided to add my own comments, and we were intrigued but at the same time not in the least bit startled to discover that "gloucesteryoungspot" appeared to have had exactly the same experience in the form of overpriced, below-par food, extortionately expensive wine and disgraceful service.... more

We have been several times to The Cherry Tree and each time is as good as the last, if not better. The food is always well presented and is full of flavour. The staff are attentive and friendly- not at all stuffy or pretentious. Excellent restaurant ! more
