I am not usually one to give bad reviews. I can normally find something positive to say about most places but the Happy Gathering is the exception. I went there Saturday 27th June 2009 and it is quite possibly the worst meal I have ever eaten. Myself and a friend ordered a set meal, which I believe was menu B.... more
Our best meals here have been as invitees of Chinese friends - but it has pretty dependable food at other times too. more
We love the food here and are now regulars. The food is lovely and a lot of the local chinese folk eat here and continue to do so. The service is adequete and some of the staff are helpful and friendly. Negative - they ask you for a tip -if they are busy you do not get the service you... more
This place used to be the best chinese in Cardiff. I dont believe that anymore. Its very expensive. The food is rushed and somewhat boring. It needs a big re-launch with a change in decor and menu. You are better off walking to the top of Bute Street and going to In-Fusion if you want a nice, interesting chinse meal. more

So dissapointed having heard excellent things about this place. Vegetarian food was bland, unintersting and expensive for what it was. Atmosphere wasn't the best - the layout reminded me of a canteen rather than a restaurant with the emphais on ramming as many people in as possible. more
