Beautiful downstairs, upstairs in the dining area was much less busy. The food was appropriate Irish cuisine, the Fish & Chips at the Crown make one want to sue Long John Silver's for false advertising as they are so much better. Well worth a visit, the downstairs booths are tough to get. More

I don't think a trip to Belfast would be complete without a visit to this Victorian stunner. Accomodating bar staff, but be warned: it gets crowded in the evening. It is a tourist destination after all. And plan ahead if you were hopining to dine. The minimal, exclusive tables are in high-demand. One note of warning: stick with the Guiness,... More

Just a tourist trap with nothing special to offer. The National Trust know how to sell this pub. There are a lot nicer more interesting older bars in Belfast city centre. Like Whites Tavern. More

Great spot for locals and tourists. Bit cramped but worth a pint and visit. Try Bass instead of Guinness, much nicer and one of the few bars in Belfast to still serve it More

Cool booths for a group to relax and chat in. Good for meeting those who are acting in the Grand Opera House. Cool bar with very friendy atmosphere. More

Visited pub and then went to upstairs restaurant on Sunday evening [13th may 2012]. Firstly may I say that the pub is unique and really is a must for anyone visiting Belfast. However i cannot say this for the upstairs restaurant. Yes the food was ok but as they say "nothing to write home about"; only the service was deplorable.... More

Called in Sunday afternoon for a drink but nowhere to sit down. The booths were all marked reserved although some were empty, you could only sit down if you were eating! I suppose the architecture was different but the heavy handed presence of the National Trust seemed in evidence. My advice - go in take some photos and then find... More
