I wasn't sure what to expect but everything about this restaurant is exactly as their website portrays... stunning!! The staff are friendly and attentive but not in your face, the food is divine and is exactly as shown in the pictures. The restaurant itself has an element of sophisitication, but with a nice friendly charm and buzz about it too!... More

This was my first vist here, I have to say I wasn't disappointed. As a surprise for my boyfriends birthday, I booked a table for lunch. We were amazed by the amount of choice for lunch, we both chose soups to start & the seafood chowder was generously filled with a selection of fresh fish & shellfish. We both really... More

Nice location by the Water of Leith, The Ship offers customers a great range of fresh seafood at a reasonable price. Our party enjoyed oysters, brown crab, langoustine and mackerel, well presented and cooked to perfection, don't forget the Ships Chips side dish. Washed down with a couple of bottles of sauvignon blanc selected from their extensive wine menu. A... More

My partner I have eaten here many times with no complaints. The Ship has two parts – a bar and a restaurant. The food in both is focused very much on seafood and they do it well, uncomplicated but beautifully prepared and full of taste. The bar menu is a bit more limited but still very good. Lunch or dinner,... More

We visited the ship twice for lunch and dinner during a week in Edinburgh. It's somewhere we'll always visit when in town and often we'll use it as an excuse to add an extra day to a trip to other parts of Scotland (last summer it was on our way from Leicester to Oban. Not exactly en route but we... More

Four of us had dinner here on 12th February. The menu is predominantly seafood and all of us loved it. The oysters had a great flavour and the lobster was the best I have ever tasted. It was also a pleasure to find a restaurant of this calibre still offering a bottle of wine at less than £20. Aperitifs, 2/3... More

We had one of the platters to share, there was more than enough for the two of us! It consisted of mostly shell fish with some smoked fishes. All of which was excellent, fresh and delicious. The puddings were also fantastic. Loved the atmosphere, the only minor gripe was that service could have been a little quicker More
