Went here for a last minute midweek dinner and have to say we found this to be a truly superb experience. My wife had the tasting menu with the sommeliers choice of wines which consisted of 100ml glasses of wine with each course. This was of course too much wine for her but it really made the meal. The dishes... more

We visited the Kitchin at the weekend and were very disappointed. We felt the staff were forcing themselves to be nice, they seemed to run around constantly but not for us, and some of them were bordering on rude. The decor is dark and I thought the toilets need to be upgraded as there are quite shabby for a place... more

My boyfriend and I went to The Kitchin last weekend and had a great time. For starters we had the crab & fennel & carpaccio of octopus. The crab & fennel portion was huge! My boyfriend said the octopus was really lovely. For mains we had the cod & vennison. Again, my portion was huge (and very rich), my boyfriend... more

After our first visit to Kitchin early September we decided to go back. The purpose of both trips was to eat at The Kitchin and we were not dissapointed on both occasions. The food was lovely, the atmosphere was relaxed and we loved the whole experience from start to finish. Once again we could see into the kitchin during our... more

Loved it, Loved it, Loved it!! Had lunch here to celebrate my son's 21st birthday and it was really superb. We had a very warm welcome. The restuarant is a very good size, not too large and not too small. I have been in Michelin Star restuarants before where you were whispering but the atmosphere in The Kitchin was very... more

This is one of the finest eating experiences i have had this year. The food is French inspired, with local ingredients. I had sweet scallops served on broccoli puree, followed by Ox cheeks (it looked like a piece of slow roasted fillet) in wonderful rich gravy served with mashed potatoes. The menu looks a little off putting to the uninitiated... more

I can't believe we have not been here before as we only live around the corner! We did have to book 3 months in advance for a space for dinner on a Sat night though! Without a doubt one of the best meals we have ever had. We went for the Chefs Land and Sea Surprise Tasting Menu with matched... more

Quite simply the best meal in Scotland. You can go to a restaurant with a Scottish guys name on the door or you can go to one with the guy actually in the kitchin. Tom is the top man, unassuming and friendly, chatting to people when leaving the restaurant, when you come in he is cooking! The waiters will give... more

We put ourselves in the chefs hands as we reckoned he knows best and went for the Chefs Land and Sea Surprise Tasting Menu. Every course presented different flavours all perfectly balanced in each dish. We loved that the menu included ingredients we had never tried before like seasonal razorfish and pigs head (yes it was amazing!) without denying popular... more

Was in Edinburgh recently, and having seen Tom Kitchin on TV, we took note of his restaurant and put it on our list of restaurants to visit. We are from Ireland, and arrived at the restaurant with no reservation!! No problem though. We waited for a table, enjoyed a lovely bottle of wine while waiting. And boy was it worth... more
