Brilliant food & wine .The Barorlo Grill used to offer a set menu of £30 a head, with an amazing bottle of Barolo wine per couple! It's a shame they don't offer this any more, but that aside, it is good. More

We have visited here a number of times and quality of food, service, value for money and atmosphere all second to none. Can't recommend highly enough. Visit for yourself and you will see why we are always delighted to have a meal here. More

Very nice restaurant and we had a voucher from 5pm for a 3 course meal for 2 + a bottle of Barolo for £60. Apparently it is normally £120, therefore very good value. The menu was italian fare and had a good choice, we both enjoyed our meal thoroughly and I especially loved the meringue, superb. More

I loved L'Ariosto and was disappointed it had closed down, however, I was pleasantly surprised by Barolo. The food I had was great - they don't skimp on the portions - so much so I could not finish my cheesecake which was delicious. I ordered tea and that came in a pot which I got almost 3 cups out of.... More

Stumbled across this place by accident after being to the Lighthouse, and the staff were very friendly. The interior is very premium and the prices reasonable. Would go back today if we weren't so full! The staff were very attentive. Definately go here and avoid the chain establishments. More

We visited Barolo on Hogmanay and were very impressed with the service, food and atmosphere. Our disappointment came at the end of the meal when the bill arrived and we were charged £18 for 4 glasses of Prosecco which a waiter brought immediately we sat at the table, we assumed naively, that this was on the house, because it was... ate here recently as we recieved a (5pm.co.uk) voucher as a christmas gift. the offer was for 3 courses, a bottle of barolo and coffee and biscuits for 2 people for £60 instead of £122. whilst the food was of excellent quality and taste, i think i'd grudge £122 for what we had. starters we had were caprese salad (blandish)... Although it was a busy Friday evening the meal and service was excellent. Our party of 4 had a varied choice on each of the courses but each was cooked and presented perfectly. Also the wine list had a number of choice wines from the expensive to under £16 for a nice Barbera from the Piemonte region. Well worth a... More

The steak is fantastic and the prawns with pancetta starter is also highly recommended. The house Barolo at £30 is well worth it. Staff are very attentive and friendly. Overall we had a fantastic night and will definitely be back. More

I started with anitpasti misti, a selection of cured meats and sheeses, followed by chicken filled with haggis and a whisky sauce, finishing with tiramisu. While not outstanding the food was nevertheless very good and the surroundings and decor are excellent. More
