Very arrogant owner who threw her staff under the bus when our order wasn’t passed over, despite the fact she herself confirmed our order of the last portion of lasagne. Offhand, defensive apology made it worse when we asked how much longer we’d need to...wait. Bottom line is we waited over an hour to be served, no apology, no offer of free coffee etc. A small offer to compensate would have saved us as future customers but we won’t be back. Arrogant business owners like this do themselves no favours. You need to realise there’s more to it than just the food. Look after your customers!!! Especially when things go wrongMore

I visited the deli to buy some higher end Italian meat for my carbonara. While I was advised that they were no longer a serving deli counter, I was nonetheless told that I would be helped out. I was referred to an older gentleman behind...the counter who seized this as an opportunity to massage his own ego and patronise/belittle me in the process. An interrogation commenced about how I was intending cooking his product and he took great delight in me providing the wrong answers. It was quite an unpleasant experience and no way to treat a paying customer. The other staff I encountered were generally fine and the place has a warm ambiance. As a learning point, I’d advise toning down the arrogance of your deli man, no matter how skilled/knowledgeable he may think he is.More

We have given this place at least 5 visits in the space of 2 months.. As an Italian I enjoyed the look and smell of the restaurant however on each visit the service was appalling. We sat outside a few times and we waited and...waited for someone to take our order. I went inside to order and was told to go back to my table and someone would take my order. 20 mins later I ordered my breakfast and it was nice. I then enquired about a cake in the display and nobody knew what it was!! A coffee, some eggs and a cake took 90 mins! The remaining visits were very similar with nice coffee, food but terrible and some rude ( usually young) staff. I don’t think I’ll be back.More

Friendly staff, however, the service was abysmally slow, the cafe was moderately busy but 20 mins wait for a small order for 4 people was excessive. We decided to stay for another drink thinking the first round was atypical, but no the second round took...equally as long. There were plenty of staff but most of them appeared disinterested in service. Very disappointed.More

Awful service . 10 minute wait to order . 20 minute wait for a tea ! As for the sandwich that was around 45 minutes. Maybe they’re trying to break records .

I visited this afternoon because I fancied some lunch and had often thought of trying out this place. I arrived to be told that it was table service only, so I took a table outside and waited. And waited. Someone came out to clear tables,...but no orders taken. After about 25 minutes one of the people 'taking orders' appeared. I attracted his attention and asked if I could order - and was told to 'Wait a minute!' Two minutes later he reappeared and took the order for a couple who had sat down some time after me. I decided to vote with my feet, and left. If you are going to have table service, then make sure there are sufficient people with sufficient organisation to make that happen. I will not be returning and will not recommend. There are plenty of places locally where one can get a lovely lunch and be treated with some kind of consideration.More

Dreadful lunch service on a quiet day. We waited 50 minutes for a panini! No explanation or apology for our surly waitress. We were told when we placed our order there would be a 25 minute delay which we accepted but 50 minutes is beyond...acceptable for something as simple as a panini! We arrived about 12.30 but as previously mentioned both inside and outside seating areas were quiet so why such a delay? On a positive note, the food, when it eventually arrived, was lovely but that was the only positive on this visit.More

Was a fantastic lunch we had here during what was clearly a busy time. This place does seem to do a bit of everything. Unique place which was very authentic feeling. Our first visit and a meal with visiting family. We got the only table...near the door which was a little cold but before we had the chance to ask the waiter was checking we were all Ok and closed it for us. We had to wait a while for our food but this was fine as our waiter kept checking in and brought us water and lovely Italian bread while we waited (We thought he could be the manager?but weren't sure)was visibly running back and forth amid a somewhat hectic service -and the other staff all were nice and trying their best they were maybe a little undertrained or packing experience for how busy it was. ... it was also a bit pricey while I'm being negative... But no matter what issue (overall it was very tasty- though I did not enjoy the very oily broth I ordered from the specials and was brought a replacement bowl of minestrone which was absolutely delicious. The main of chicken was delicios) all felt very looked after and valued- our coffe our food everything we were asked if we were happy and were accomadated. If he could he went and fixed it personally such as our coffees which was a little on the cool side initially.... It all felt very personal which was lovely and we were able to sit for a while as we finished our free coffees and did not feel we were being rushed out like you do in some olaces &Brother in law picked up some wine and olives that we were recommended on the way out. Yes- we were all given free coffees at the end (a thank you for all customers we were informed) ! Thank you all at Pan E Vino for a lovely time we are still talking about- me and husband will see you again to try more of you lovely Italian delights.. but maybe at a quieter time LMore

Walking round Rouken Glen Park - we got chatting about Italian food and then we had a notion for some nice bruschetta. We headed along to Pane e Vino in Giffnock which you'd think would be a safe bet to satisfy this craving. What a...weird atmosphere this place has. Folk outside sipping wine and enjoying the sun which is a good start indeed. Wow though - quite the contrast when you walk inside to the atmosphere that is just so tense. One elder Italian gentleman on the kitchen side and another older Italian gentleman on the counter side. The staff seem so inexperienced and really look like they don't want to be there. The guy on the counter side was scolding the young staff in front of customers which I cannot stand. I appreciate all staff need to gain experience but perhaps don't put 3 youngsters on shift on a Saturday afternoon. It needed 1 less of the teens and an experienced member of staff to organise things. Granted - I don't know the shift patterns/staff situation but this was my observation. So to the bruschetta we came for. I was slightly taken aback that it was written on the board as £7.50. This is the same price for takeaway as sit in. £7.50 is up there with Sarti's city centre prices and more expensive for bruschetta than most of the best rated Italian restaurants in the city. I eat out every weekend and don't mind paying good money for good food. Ordering and paying for it was a real hassle too. This place lacks direction, customer service skills and seems to be one of those places that used to be good and the term resting on their laurels springs to mind. In the car - I was stunned by how poor the product was when I opened the container. They really didn't treat the Altamura bread with any respect at all - what a let down! A few small slices barely toasted with a heap of finely diced tomato. No evidence of toasting/grilling, lacking in olive oil, seasoning and the basil as advertised on the menu. Where on earth was the garlic that was supposed to be rubbed into the bread? Soggy bread with tomato for £7.50 - nope - I won't be back. I've had some fantastic bruschetta in Glasgow and this was the worst version I've ever had served to me. The place looks lovely but that's not enough I'm afraid. C'mon folks - you can do better.More

First visit here. Will not be the last, that’s for sure! We loooove coffee but, believe me, it’s not easy to get a consistently punchy, great-flavoured coffee in Ayrshire. We popped up to Pane e Vino in Giffnock today, predominantly for a good quality pancetta...to make carbonara. Again, try and get that in Ayrshire - no chance! Take note folks - quality pancetta from Pane E Vino vs supermarket “lardons” - I’ll leave you to work out what’s best - my carbonara was transformed 😉.. Whilst there we had flat whites, Pelegríno and delicious cannoli. Let’s just say we were happy bunnies! We will pop up monthly, for sure - well worth it. Ayrshire coffee shops.. Take note!More

This place has seriously gone downhill in recent years. I think the main problem is the staff, who show absolutely no interest in providing good customer service. Even when it's quiet, you'll invariably see them huddled together behind the counter chatting with each other and...you often have to interrupt them to get attention. Service with a smile, it isn't. Shame because Pane e Vino is a lovely little deli with a great selection of cheeses, meat, wine, etc. From speaking to others in the area, the bad service clearly hasn't gone unnoticed...More

Authentic food, with a pleasant and relaxed atmosphere. The staff are very friendly and polite. I enjoyed an antipasto and a glass of wine outdoors with my dog… it’s always a bonus to find somewhere that is dog friendly! I also tried the cannoli and...Sfogliatelle 🤤 both of which were amazing! I’ll definitely be a regular now.More

Went here with some friends for some brunch and was thoroughly disappointed. Staff were rude and inexperienced and seemed very stressed and agitated. The wait for food was extremely long and wasn't up to much when it arrived - I don't think £5.50 for a...single sausage roll, sorry an "authentic italian pork sausage roll" is great value. This was accompanied by lukewarm coffee that had spilled all over the saucer and filthy glasses for water. Was also really draughty due to having the door open for "covid regulations" which I've seen in no other restaurant. Have no idea why this place has such a high reputation but I think it is probably because it is in Giffnock people automatically assume high quality - I'd give it a miss!More
