I've been up for work in Glasgow for 7 months now, and eaten at dozens of places, but Cafe Gandolfi has pipped the post to be my favourite place in the whole city. Ate from the Christmas menu, starting with a fantastic trio stack of Stornoway black pudding, beetroot and cured venison. Great stuff. Main was a lovely filo pastry... more

It's one of our favourite restaurants in Glasgow and a must dine for anyone visiting the city. I can't even remember the first time I ate there - it must have been in the early 80's and thankfully it hasn't changed much apart from getting better with age! The place has real character. The interior is quirky and has an... more

I have to say the whole experience was excellent. The service was welcoming and helpful and the food although expensive, was tasty and above "normal" and in some cases wonderfully surprising - atmosphere was a cafe, but a unique one ! All in all, very worthwhile and I went back the 2 days later as some "highly recommended" restaurants in... more

Great! A legend in its own lunchtime! Has been a quirky vibrant place to eat and meet for 30 years and still going strong. The secret - very little changes as it was all good to start with! The interior worth a look for the amazing furniture alone. more

Restaurants can change in a month these day, but I'd last been to Gandolfi in the 80's, and it was still the same, still wonderful. The retro furniture and decor are worth a visit on their own, but the friendly service and great food make this a must if you're in the area. You can get everything from a coffee... more

We come here often, the atmosphere is great, the decor and furniture is lovely. Most often, we go here for breakfast on saturday mornings. i'd seriously recommend the black pudding for breakfast, it is truly scrumptious! theres really little i can say about this place that hasn't already been said. its just lovely, everything about it. the staff are always... more

Listed in the top 50 restaurants in the UK - a very deserving accolade! The winebuyer is clearly very well-informed, serving wines at the right temperature and particularly pleasing was the South African choices from upcoming Kanu estate and; Old Vines Chenin Blanc, the latter being refined by the multi-award winning winemaker at the Asara Wine Estate in Stellenbosch. The... more

I have been eating and meeting at Cafe Gandolfi for many years, and what i love is Seumas's warm hospitality that pervades all his team, the consistently good food, and the location in Glasgow. And its amazing who you bump in to....from screen star Robert Carlyle....to the local MP...keep it up! Midgebyte more

Enjoyed a very lovely evening in Cafe Gandolfi irecently. Had no reservation on a B/H weekend, Sunday evening. The staff were v helpful and fitted us in. The atmosphere was very pleasant, informal and relaxed and our server was attentive and very polite. The food was good and the wine selection was very nice. Thanks again Cafe Gandolfi. more

My introduction to Cafe Gandolfi was with a fairly large group of government officials. we pretty much took over a good portion of the restaurant. Despite our size, the wait staff did an exceptional job of tending to our needs. While I had a pasta dish which was very good, I found the menu to be fairly limited. The restaurant... more
