We were recommended by a local to come here. It is in the wonderful west end along a very quaint and buzzing street. The food does seem a bit pricey but it was outstanding and the setting, with log fire and plenty of chatter made it a perfect night. more

We went for sunday lunch 7 adults and 3 kids and were given a big table downstairs. We had heard that the Chip was expensive and non childfriendly but found both of these complaints to be untrue. The lunch at £20 each offered good value and the children were well spoilt by the staff. The food was unremarkable though Bland... more

Definitely past it's prime - uninspiring food that is woefully overpriced, although the wine list is certainly comprehensive. Far better eats available up and down Byres Rd. more

I went here for the first time last week and loved it. The food was excellent and the best meal I have had for a very long time. My companion was of the same opinion. It is certainly not cheap, but I thought that it was well worth the money that we paid. more

This is one of my favourite restaurants in Glasgow. I've never been dissapointed. I eat here 3 or 4 times a year. I especially like autumn or winter when there is always Scottish game on the menu. Went for dinner last week and munched our way through starters of Tea smoked duck with bacon and West coast langoustines with garlic... more

So disappointed. Had always wanted to go, and now never want to return. Excellent service, staff and hospitality but food was completly overhyped and would in all honesty say that it was a complet waste of time and money going here. food was pathetic and just because it was 'local produce' doesn't mean to say it should be all gimmick... more

Went to the "chip" with a group of visiting surgeons expecting at least an ok meal. The restaurant was busy and in an attempt to pack them in the tables are close together and walking between them is an effort for the guests and staff. In general the service was ok but rushed and without charm, however the wine waiter/barman... more

My partner and I decided on the Chip for her 40th and unfortunately the meal didn’t live up to the occasion. We were presented with appetiser of cold soup – I was almost embarrassed to ask if it was supposed to be cold given it was a fancy restaurant only to be told that no indeed it should have been... more

The most famous restaurant in the area. We didn't regret that we decided to try. From some point of view they are a little bit pricey (especially, wines, some bottles I knew and saw that there prices were higher that in some restaurants in London, for example), but from the other hand, the atmosphere, food and service can compensate it.... more
