Took family to La Taverna last week, whilst on holiday. We received a warm welcome, and restaurant was busy with a lively atmosphere - which was encouraging. Menu was staple Italian food - good value and filling. Pizzas we ordered did not last long ! Ideal for a relaxed meal. more

With a very limited menu - an Italian resturant without spaghetti bolognaise, meatballs or veal - what more can I say. This establishment appears to concentrate on its buffet. £12.95 per adult, £6.95 for a child under 10 yrs and £0 for a child under 3 yrs. Way over priced. Pretty good all-you-can-eat buffet deal. Great Italian-type pizza and various pasta dishes included. Nothing to go out of the way for; pretty standard-fare family restaurant generally, but definitely worth it if you're in Aviemore. more

Having tried out a few restaurants in the 'tourist town' of Aviemore I've noticed a bit of a trend in that many of them appear to be 'money-grabbers'. We were staying in Aviemore for the week - and usually eat around when on holiday - but loved La Taverna, and ate there almost every night! Would definitely recommend. You can tell the place is family run by the attention to detail and warm and welcoming atmosphere. Food was superb - I recommend the pate and lasagne. more
