We recently had a visit to Inverness and decided we would have lunch at the Glen Morriston Townhouse Contrast Brasserie. This would be our third visit to this eaterie and we were not disappointed. There is a special two course set price lunch menu or a regular Lunch Menu. We chose the set menu which gives you a small choice,... more

Nice venue, some of the staff were really skilled, others in training, the food was pleasant and locally sourced. Scallops amazing but rather small portions, mussels amazing, steak (28 day aged Angus, seignant) tasty but tough and lamb confit unusual but pleasant. Somewhere along the line it seemed that it could have been an exceptional meal, but didn't quite make... more

We stopped in after a particularly long and hot afternoon (which ended with a bit of rain) and didn't have a reservation. They immediately seated the 5 of us (all adults) and made us feel very welcome. The food was excellent, the bar selection was excellent, and the place was cool and very relaxing. It was also not the most... more

Love this place, especially the food, been a few times but not for about a year, so we were really looking forward to our pre-theatre dinner. Food excellent but the service awful, the girls were lovely and friendly but our male waiter was clearly stressed, rude and grumpy!! and to cap it all started arguing with other male staff within earshot of... more

Having been patrons of this establishment for a good few years, we recently have stopped going there. This is solely due to the attitude of the young "manager" - the owner's son. He is condescending, has a very defensive manner and seems to go out of his way to show guests that he is the boss. We enjoy the food,... more

Located on the banks of the river just a 5 minute walk from the town centre, this restaurant deserves to be booked out every night. We had Duck terrine and Smoked mushroom soup followed by slow cooked pork and Sea bass . All of the dishes were memorable and served by most attentive staff in a light and airy modern... more

After being encouraged from the Abstract waiter to eat in the Contrast across the car park, I did so with confusion. Was the server too comfortable doing absolutely nothing in an empty restaurant? Was the food bad, what was the problem? After sending our orders back , listening to a couple of French waiters argue in front of the guests... more
