We ate two nights running at the Crannog. What a delight. It does not look anything from the outside but is really nice and the staff are lovely. There is a good menu and the wine list is reasonable. The prices are not cheap but well worth the expense when you are on holiday. The variety of fish was wonderful. more

Having read the reviews I was expecting a lot and this restaurant appeared to have a lot to live up to. However, on a windy, wet Friday evening in October the crackling wood stove made an instant impression. The service was excellent and the food truly out of this world. The Supreme of Shetland Salmon was cooked to perfection with... more

I really liked the Cronnog's. It is located directly at the Loch with an excellent view at the surrounding mountains. If you like fresh fish you are at the right place. They offer excellent fresh fish dishes und good wines. Try the mussels and maybe look for the daily catch at the menu board. Take care you do a reservation... more

Visited this restaurant on the recommendation of the host in our B&B. Unfortunately, despite my love of seafood I was dissapointed. The food was indeed fresh and well presented, by attentive staff but the cost was prohibitive. I feel that almost £9.00 for a cheese board with only three very small pieces of cheese is ripping off customers. The meal... more

September 20, 2009. We had a delicious lunch at the Crannog in Fort Wlliam, complimented by perfect service. The decor is delightful: don't miss the painting of "the seafood market from ancient times to the present." Highly recommend! more

Stopped here for lunch on a Saturday, food was very good, main menu was expensive but there was a starter and main deal for £9.95, with a choice of 4 starters and 5 mains. There was no kids menu but the very friendly waitress was happy to arrange a half portion for our daughter, which she really enjoyed. more

After car troubles and a late return we decided to try the Crannog, although we were worried that we might have been underdressed. This was not an issue, some people were dressed for dinner, but others were obviously in on the way home and there was even a group of guys wearing the silly highlander hats complete with ginger hair... more

I first visited Crannog nine years ago and again two years later. My friends were most impressed when I took them there in 2007 and I recently dined there for the fourth time on the 25-September-2009. It was a Friday, perhaps their busiest night of the week, and we arrived ten minutes late for our 19:00 booking after following a... more

We dined here on a rainy evening in Sept. 2009. I grew up eating fish at home - sorry Mom but the fish cakes here are a million times better than the ones you make at home. Our fish was fresh and well cooked, tasty. Dessert was OK. Reservations are required (as noted by many). Our server seemed to be... more
