Having enjoyed more then 15 dinners over the years at this wonderful restaurant,it was with great apprehension that my wife and I ventured into the 'newly owned and opperated Quay'.Rest assured,it is in capable hands and the food is still a winner. We also had the 50 euro special with a bottle of wine and it turned out to be a... more

We had a meal in Quay Cottage Restaurant on the 11th of September and it was excellent. Starters, main course and desert were served in a leisurely pace. Good size portions, delicious taste and very cheap. A menu for 2 including a bottle of wine was 50 Euro! Very good value for money. We booked a table in advance and... more

Myself, husband and 18 mth old daughter ate dinner twice here and would definitely recommend the restaurant for its service, food and atmosphere. However, we ate early (6-7pm) on both nights (a Sunday and Wednesday) so there were not many other diners. We had a special 'recession buster' menu of 3 courses each and bottle of wine for total 50... more

Go to THE HELM instead, it's just a few doors down and could teach these people a thing or two about service, food quality and welcomes. No restaurant staff to greet or seat incoming customers, just a big open hallway with 3 waiters wandering past, heads bowed in an effort to avoid any eye contact with bewildered customers left standing... more

We had a late lunch at the Quay Cottage, nestled at the end of the Quay and at the entrance to the Westport House. The service was a bit slow - there was one person waiting tables and seating guests - but once we had a table, we were seen to right away, and the help was very friendly. My... more

To mark a special occasion we booked this restaurant and are still very angry and annoyed at the service and welcome we received. Upon arrival we were left in a small doorway for more than 10 minutes waiting to be welcomed. Finally a Maitre D (very obnoxious) told us he would be with us in a few minutes. It was... more

The owner & staff will without intrusion make your dining experience in Quay Cottage a memorable one. The food is simply exquisite . Attention to detail & relaxed atmosphere tempted us to dine there 3 times in the one week. Cannot recommend this lovely quaint place highly enough. Will be back again next week. Looking forward already. Geraldine & Ollie more

Went to the Quay’s Cottage on recommendation from friends with my wife and in-laws but unfortunately we wouldn’t recommend it to anyone based on our experience. We arrived and like the other reviews were told to wait to be seated (there were 4 tables available in the area where we were eventually seated, yet we were still made to wait?)... more

Ate here with pals to celebrate no more school for the 2 families. Agree with another reviewer - The Maitre D was pretentious leaving alot to be desired and gave the place a Dublin 2 feel to it when a Westport Quay atmosphere was what we were looking for. He also did not stay to closing time so was not... more
