Popped in for a nice cuppa or two and a decent choice of cakes. Nice modern interior over a few floors. Decent staff. More

Good for tea and cake, if the queue at Betty's is too long - meals can be a little disappointing. More

We had a great coffee break in Jakes - the waiter service was welcomed to tired, shopped out feet and the tea, coffee and chocolate brownies were life savers. Very polite staff, clean toilets and great value for money. The tall chairs in the front part of the shop are amazing!! More

We attended the Italian food and wine night - different wines, paired with the menu. The food is authentic Italian, with a good range of artisan wines, expertly described by our host for the evening. The interior has been completely refurbed and has the feel of a boutique wine bar, which transforms well from its daytime coffee shop into an... More

I liked the place, we popped in for tea and coffee with friends and had a nice time, the muffin was a little dry and the milkshake was small and very thin, it could have been better but the others liked their bits. More

My girlfriend and I were visiting Harrogate for the weekend and stumbled across Jakes: a pleasant restaurant in the centre of town. We were served by a very pleasant young man who was confident and quick/efficient with his service. I had pan fried fillet of hake. Although the portion was small it was delicious! I would recommend this place to... More

Limited menu, but both food and wine were sensibly priced. Enjoyed the food, no complaints at all. Waitress was very friendly. Some rebuilding work going on at the moment, so not the tidiest place I've ever been to. More

Having spent the day in Harrogate, we were drawn to Jakes as it looked busy and interesting. The downbstairs area certainly looked good. However, thats as far as anything positive goes. Stepping through the door, we were greeted by a very young waiter who told us, "just grab a seat where ever mate". We moved upstairs where there was a... More
