Visited Darleys for the first time, and for Sunday lunch. The food was excellent, staff extremely friendly and the restaurant and bar area are beautifully designed. Nice to sit outside on the terrace when the weather is nice. more

We visited Darleys on the way home from a trip away. As Derby's 'tripadvisor number 1 restaurant' we thought it would be well worth a detour. Following the sat nav we thought we had made a wrong turn, however following the path around we stumbled across the restaurant. You get what you pay for at Darleys. It's a lovely place for a special occasion. The food is fantastic and the service impeccable. more
I ate here on my birthday it was an all round very enjoyable evening. Thefood was superb and i could not fault the service. I am a chef and normally do find fault easily but that was impossible at Darleys more

The food is very good here but I'm marking it down because the waiter taking our order corrected every guest who ordered steak well done, telling them that it should be ordered 'cooked through'. Maybe he didn't think this was rude, but I did. more
Darleys is an attractive and atmospheric restaurant overlooking a weir on the River Derwent at Darley Abbey. The restaurant is housed in part of an eighteenth-century cotton mill and is within the Derwent Valley UNESCO World Heritage zone. Probably as good as food gets in Derby. The top end of the market - expect to pay about £35 per person, excluding wine. more
