The food is ok but it's nothing special and nothing to warrant the prices. It's a bit snooty which is fine if the food standard matches the price, but it doesn't.
My husband and I dined here last night. Shown straight to our table and given menus. The waitress ran through the specials knowledgeably. We ordered our food and were brought complimentary bread with a delicious olive dip. Throughout the evening every mouthful of food was outstanding. The restaurant itself was quiet for a Friday evening and I am struggling to... More
This little place is tucked down a side street of Georgian houses in the centre of Lancaster. We used to come here a few years ago, before it went downhill. A change of ownership and decor has transformed this venue into a bijou bistro, with a lovely ambience. We were a group of eleven and had pre-ordered, so I'm not... More
this is a mixed review....the staff were lovely, very sweet and keen. the food was imaginative with some lovely touches. the prices were reasonable. so it should have been great. however the food wasn't very well cooked, meat and veg both badly overdone. the staff were super-keen but were not at all well-trained and as a consequence were VERY intrusive.... Visited this venue as a family for brunch and enjoyed a varied menu with delicious food. Service was quick and always with a smile. We were given ample time to decide what to choose but not left too long.Sunday - as it used to be... Lovely surroundings, good atmosphere and very relaxing - will come here again.
So much lacking. I have ate here time and time again. Food is good but never changes, so why does the staff that at least make it special. First the french gentleman and now the irish lady. My wife and I really do enjoy this place but it is truely lacking atmosphere and sense of anywhere to spend a great... More
Only ever had full english here and it never disappoints! They are acommodating with swapping things around which is great because i don't like bpudding. Nice clean toilets.
Have been an intermittent customer of The Sun Cafe for a number of years and have always found it to be a much more relaxing place to have lunch than at any of those copy cat coffee chains which seem to dominate the surrounding area. The staff are usually very polite and efficient, particularly the Northern Irish girl who always... More
We recently had 40 guests to the Sun Cafe for an intimate after registry office meal. The place looked great - they had gone to a lot of trouble with flowers and decorations. The staff were friendly and helpful. The food was terrific. All in all a wonderful experience - highly recommended!
I had a wonderful meal for my birthday in the Sun Cafe- the staff were friendly and helpful, the decor is lovely and the varied food choice was great. Finding seafood in Lancaster is not easy but the Sun Cafe is an exception- we had octopus, prawns, salmon carpaccio- all cooked to an excellent standard , really fresh and with... More
