Le Turon is a small restaurant on the pedestrianized Rue Colbert, in the old town. The street has a couple of dozen eating places and this is among the best. Located in a very old building it has been harmoniously and sensitively modernised to create a light and airy space with a modern relaxed ambiance. The tables are well spaced... More

Really nice restaurant in the heart of Tours. It's a nice sized restaurant with a balanced menu. The 7 hour lamb was just outstanding. There were 7 of us (4 adults/3 kids) and with a bottle of wine the whole thing was 150 euro. The staff was very attentive and the woman who seems to own/run the place was extremely... More

We merely flipped a coin and ended up at Le Turon.....but we couldn't have done better if we researched all night. What a great dinner we had. I had the seven-hour Lamb and had to post to rave about it.

We went to Le Turon on a Sunday night because it was one of the very few open - if only we had known about it before! The service, ambiance and food was excellent. We were also very impressed by the range of wines available 'by the glass' and the generosity with which they were poured!!The set 'gourmand' menu, 3... More

Having recently taken up residence in Tours, we've been trying out a fair number of local restaurants and have yet to find one that beats "Le Turon". On each occasion visited, they have served up great tasting, well presented food which is also reasonably priced, whether you stick to the fixed menus or go a la carté. The poached eggs... More

Be sure to phone ahead of time to book a table. This small restaurant was packed out by 8pm. It serves a traditional cusine, with very good value, tasty dishes - not always using better quality ingredients. Service was slow at first, we waited 45 minutes for our starters, but it was friendly and got back on track after this.... More

Had dinner here whilst staying in Tours. Located on the restaurant strip of Rue Colbert,Le Turon is deservedly popular. Food was delicious especially the 7 hour lamb and the service was very friendly. The staff spoke English which was very helpful to us non French speakers! Would visit again if I ever return to Tours.

Picked this restaurant purely by chance and had one of the best meals to date during our last 6 months in France. The Carpacio Scallops were very good whilst my wifes Pork cheek terrine was brillian. For mains I had the duck which was perfectly cooked whilst the 7 hour cooked lamb was exceptional. Our waitress' wine recommendation was spot... More

I went for lunch as I wanted to try the 7 hour lamb, I did not choose a good starter, poached eggs with fois GRAS and a wine reduction. Each element was good but as a combination it did not work for me. The lamb was good but not great, excellent sauce , melt in the mouth meat, but was... More
