Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Thai food is very popular in Paris and number of places to experience it may run to the few hundreds easily. But one can always determine a good place by the queue staying in front of the doors. These situations can be observed more often...in front of small cafes or take-away places as good Thai food normally affordable and prepared fast. Very often food is cooked in advance and then simply heated up and refreshed. In other cases famous Tom Yum Goong soups, Khao Pad fried or, the subject of this review, Pad Thai noodles cooked right in front of a hungry crowd. One can easily pass by this little place on the Rue du Faubourg Poissonnière, missing it tiny entrance with a humble nameplate above the entrance door, unless it is a lunchtime and queue of people really hard to miss. Pad Thai there is simple and yet so very tasty that people keep coming only for that dish. Noodles are properly cooked with nice chewiness in them, shrimps are juicy and plenty, bean sprouts and spring onions are crunchy and roasted peanuts completing the overall experience. There is something airy in the whole dish, it is not too wet or too dry and you will finish it way faster than expected prompting thoughts about extra portion. And maybe next time this should be done although you promise yourself to try something else on the fairly long menu.More

I've visited Chez Pai after reading some good opinions. I like very much Thai food and maybe my expectations are too high(some years ago ,9 weeks in Thailand on holidays), but Pad Thai I've ordered was half cold half warm ( microwave) and tasted like...few days old . Because I've took lunch formula I've got also terrible spring rolls ( microwave) and dessert . Tapioca with coco nuts milk and fresh banana. Also taste like nothing...for me worst Thai food experience ever.More

very often dissapointed by the Thai restaraunts in Paris, Chez Pai feels like a visit to a street food stall or small family restaraunt of Bangkok. Simple menu but everything is well cooked and very good value. Spice level reduced for the French palate but...they will adapt for you. The thing I miss most after every holiday in Thailand is the papaya salads, having tried them everywhere I can say this is the best one in Paris I just wish it was open in the evening!More

I am a regular at Chez Pai and I really love both the food (fresh ingredients, 2 "specials" everyday and plenty of basics such as the refreshing green papaya salad or the tasty green curries) and the warm atmosphere created by the 3 ladies who...prepare the food, serve it and still find the time to remember how spicy you like your food. All this (starter, main, drink and smiles) for 9 or 10 euros.More

We saw the restaurant and decided to try it, especially that the food smelled so nice inside. The decors are nice. They used a real sack cloth for chair cushions but very comfortable. The (Thai?) staff didn't know how to speak English but we seemed...to understand each other. We ordered a Tom Kha Gai. It came in a massive bowl! We thought it was a starter but it seemed like a main course! It was lovely and we were impressed. Then we ordered some Pad Thai. The noodle didn't look the usual. It was dark. The Pad Thai had 3 pcs of prawn which lacked in taste. We didn't find/taste the peanut and tamarind sauce either. Sorry but this one was a disappointment. The price was reasonable. Overall was okay.More

Grabbed a papaya salad (som tam) to go - it was made to order, so very fresh and tasty although in my opinion, the sauce lacked the zesty taste of fish sauce and dehydrated shrimps. But for less than 5€, it was highly satisfactory. Staff...were so polite. Other dishes prepared looked like something i would whip up at home (very simple and not elaborate) but I can't say it looked delicious - nevertheless I would definitely give their cooking another try! Phad Thai is not the usual ones offered - more like chinese style soya sauce noodles. Rest of the stuff prepared for take away looked just ok.More

Been in Paris for a week and I had dinner here 3 times. I must say the food served here is really flavorful. The ambient was nice and the most important thing is the service was excellent. Definitely will visit again soon.
