Thai food is very popular in Paris and number of places to experience it may run to the few hundreds easily. But one can always determine a good place by the queue staying in front of the doors. These situations can be observed more often...in front of small cafes or take-away places as good Thai food normally affordable and prepared fast. Very often food is cooked in advance and then simply heated up and refreshed. In other cases famous Tom Yum Goong soups, Khao Pad fried or, the subject of this review, Pad Thai noodles cooked right in front of a hungry crowd. One can easily pass by this little place on the Rue du Faubourg Poissonnière, missing it tiny entrance with a humble nameplate above the entrance door, unless it is a lunchtime and queue of people really hard to miss. Pad Thai there is simple and yet so very tasty that people keep coming only for that dish. Noodles are properly cooked with nice chewiness in them, shrimps are juicy and plenty, bean sprouts and spring onions are crunchy and roasted peanuts completing the overall experience. There is something airy in the whole dish, it is not too wet or too dry and you will finish it way faster than expected prompting thoughts about extra portion. And maybe next time this should be done although you promise yourself to try something else on the fairly long menu.More
