Staff: Charming, sweet and kind. I liked them immensely. Ambience: Semi-old world charming with what felt like a 70's or 80's retro-chic redo. Not so good, really. It was okay. Food: I have one word for you: Awful! Bar Area: Nice for a quick drink and chat with friends....but then zip out of there. Tip: Bofinger is in a lot... more

FOOD POISONING!!! Do not eat here. My companion and I shared our entrees here so we are certain that our 24 hours of vomiting/diarrhea can be attributed to the seafood here. Had escargot, scallops, and cod. Even if we hadn't gotten sick, service was VERY slow (took 3 hrs for an appetizer and entrees). Food was mediocre at best. Worst... more

We'd been to Bofinger before and had good meals but the service and quality of food has deteriorated. We sat for 10 mins before we were offered an aperitif. The onion soup was unremarkable - there were more onions in the carbonade of beef! The capon was dry and tasteless. There are better places in Paris. more

Our waiter deffinitely had an anti American attitude. We were ignored for the most part, and he was downright rude to us. The food was ok, but the atmosphere was not very pleasant. The French Onion Soup was very bland, not worth ordering. Prices were quite high, and I would not recommend this place to anyone. They do not take... more

My friends and I had a 1030pm seating at the restaurant on a Saturday night. We arrived 10 minutes early and after a 20 minute wait, we were shown to our table. Apart from napkins, the table wasn't set at all--no glasses, no cutlery--surely not a sign of a top-notch restaurant. We asked our waiter to help us with the... more

Beautiful interior but horrendous food and service. We were there on a very busy Sunday night in early October and although we had a reservation we were kept waiting. When we were finally seated the service was non-existent. Perhaps they were short-staffed but there were no explanations for the long waits for everything. Food was abysmal-- very coarse and low... more

This is now my fitfh visit to this old and traditional French brasserie. This time at lunch time. Informal but warm welcome, rooms about 75% full, excellent prompt service from experienced waiter in long white apron, good solid typical parisian food. Serious wine list at reasonable prices. Expect to pay around EUR50 per person for a three course meal which... more

After bringing 4 women who are all foodies here, we felt the food was extremely mediocre. Excepting the French onion soup, the escargots were unsavory and not every shell had a snail in any case, the pork knuckle looks like a dinosaur relic with absolutely nothing but fat on it, the Alsatian food was heavy as to be expected and... more

Although it was a little difficult to make the reservation without knowing much French, it was definitely worth the effort. Our meal was perfect. The menu was all in French (some places had english, as well) but, we were able to understand it fairly well, even with our rudimentary language skills. I had gazpacho for starters, followed by steak tartar... more

We were appalled at many of the customers. Dressed like tramps no wonder they are subjected to disdain and contempt by the staff. The food is excellent, the service friendly, efficient and professional. Dress the part, try to speak French and eat like a native and you'll have a superb time..even in the so called cheap seats up stairs. Dress... more
