We just returned from a 3 day trip in Paris and we had lunch or dinner at : Mezzanine-Alcazar, Benoit, Costes, Kong, Societe. We wanted to eat to trendy places with nice jazz/soul house music (Benoit excluded, its a classic/classy brasserie), cool atmoshere and beautiful people. I wrote all the reviews today and I am really bored of the people... more

Good looking restaurant with mainly good reviews but the standard seems to be slipping. The salads had been pre made hours before and we wondered if the lamb shoulder had been reheated in the microwave (Very hot in the centre). Even the bread had been cut so long ago that the surface had become hard and dry. We won't be... more

We ate here the first night of our trip and really enjoyed it. There was a fixed menu for I think 42e or a la carte. You could choose between the two if you wished. We had 3 courses from the set menu and a main from the a la carte a bottle of wine and two beers, also had... more

Went here for a friend's 40th birthday and absolutely loved it. Have a fab bar upstairs which we went to before and after dinner. Loved the decor, black and white movie and lighting. Service was excellent and the waitress (Linda) was lovely. Food excellent and they even brought out a little dessert with brilliant shooting candle for our friend. Great... more

Alcazar is sleek and modern, with a more contemporary menu than you might expect to find in the old neighborhood in which it is located. The quality of the food is good and it is nicely presented. more

This was an amazing experience. First, the restaurant is incredibly hip and trendy. It is a beautiful, large space in the very hot 6th (?) or 5th (?) arrondissement of Paris. During our meal, an old American movie played against a stark white wall while opera singers performed arias from selected operas. Patrons of the bar upstairs gazed down at... more

On a recent trip to Paris, my mother and I dined at L'alcazar. I chose it for its location, the positive reviews I had seen and the fact that I could make a reservation online. Well, so much for the online reservation! They absolutely did not have it. But, we were able to get a table nonetheless on a Saturday... more

The Terrance Conran design really outdated but still worth a visit as it has a good crowd. more

If you're looking for a chic atmosphere, L'alcazar will not disappoint. We went on a Sunday night in the off-season, so it was pretty quiet. We had a great booth table complete with velvet pillows. The meal opened with a basket of bread and butter, of course. This was the best butter my husband and I had ever tasted. We... more
