It is all about wine - if you are not a wine lover, there are probably better places for you to go.
The wine list is impressive and, while expensive, not outrageously priced; as often in those kind of places, you better off choosing rather high-end wines, as clearly the margin is well lower and hence higher value for money....

After all thats the only reason I came by to eat there. Honestly at first it was really confusing. I was lost, had to ask the waiter on whats happening. But basically instead of ordering food you order the wine, and the food revolves around the wine. Needless to say, this restaurant has best wine food pairing since its owned...

We wanted to go there for wine and realised food is amazing too. Service is great, they know their stuff. They can speak about wine hours and hours. We were very impressed with food. Dont think you shouldnt go if one of your party does not drink, food is worth the trip. It's a little bit expensive and I recomend...

We chose to dine at Il Vino primarily because it was recommended by the luxe guide for Paris. I cannot fathom why this is the case. The luxe recommendations are usually on the money, but not this time. It has nothing to do with the concept, which is fresh and original: choose your wine and leave it to the chef...

This restaurant was recommended to us by a Parisien businessman. We had not reserved but were really happy to receive a table for two. The atmosphere is really nice.

We found the decor to be quite sophisticated and we had a...

Perhaps they have modified the concept, but it wasn’t exactly as I had been led to believe either by reviews or by their website. My understanding was that you choose a wine or wines, and they then match food to it.
What we found on the menu instead, on the left side, was a list of a la carte items....

My husband and I spent the weekend in Paris and everything was incredible with the exception being Il Vino. Average at best... except the bill which was outrageous! We ordered the St Estephe pairing for 70 EURs and were in shock when we were served just a little over a thible full of wine. Complete rip-off... Would never go back.
If you are in Paris DO devote one of your evenings to visiting this lovely restaurant.
I love their concept: 1st you choose the WINE and only after the Chef prepares some food which matches your wine. I have been there more than 5 time during last 3 years - and every time my friends and me were very-very happy:...
