I was there 2 months ago and I recomend this restaurant for the view, the service, the food, and the atmosphere... The hotel recomended us this restaurant and it was a perfect choice. We eat in some restaurants in Barcelona and for us this was the best. We had a romantic night in the terrace. You should taste the seafood... more

Two us ate lunch at La Gavina yesterday - the day after the next review - and our experience couldn't have been more different. It was absolutely stunning. Having seen the portion size of paella as we worked our way through a load of full tables, we decided to forego any starter. the seafood paella arrived - piles of it... more

A group of us 6 ladies, were recommended by our hotel that La Gavina was excellent!! We booked a table for our last evening in Barcelona. Arrived at 9 on Saturday night to a nearly empty restaurant, shown into the inside room, very clean we could see the kitchen.lovely. We thought the menu was quite expensive, much more so than... more

There must be some conspiracy afoot in Barcelona as this restaurant was also recommended by our hotel for its paella. Granted, it's a perfect spot to be on a balmy evening. Their large terrace overlooks the marina in La Barceloneta, and the passing parade of people is always entertaining. But why do restaurants with a view always think they can... more

My girlfriend and I ate here on a recommendation from our hotel. We had two appetizers (salad and sardines) and the seafood paella. The salad was wilted and disgusting and the sardines were flopped on top of some under ripe tomatoes. The paella was salty with a poor texture and the fish was gummy. Definitely a tourist trap, they know... more

Location was the best part, though our table was toward the back of the patio so it felt like we were inside. Bread cost 1.90 euros for a small piece and the sangria was overpriced and nothing special. The paella was okay. more

I am a regular customer of this restaurant. I went for the first time 5 years ago and since then whenever I'm in Barcelona for business I go to dinner. The second time I repeated they recognized me and my wife and they invited me to a glass of champagne which shocked me because it is not common in other... more

We had turbot and monkfish, and both dishes were original and tasted very nice. Although the restaurant was crowded (and the neighbouring restaurants were not), service was fast and correct. You might say they wanted us to go, so that they could seat new costumers, but when we asked the waiter to slow down a bit, he proposed to wait... more

Great location by the marina. Busy too, but only because all the other nearby restaurants were closing. Our waiter was good to be fair, but the food was very poor as was the managers attitude overall. Clearly they rely on tourists - try it once, but never return! more

Was recommended this restaurant by the Hilton hotel staff, as one of the best restaurants in the city for paella and frequented by natives. The location inspired confidence: on the Moll D'Espanya, opposite the main marina, similar to St Katherine's Docks in London or the Albert Docks in Liverpool, the silver service was begrudging - the staff weren't at all... more
