It is now open 24 hours a day, and is well worth searching out. Great, fresh churros, and amazing thick strong hot chocolate. It is a Madrid institution, and has a long history. One of the surprises of our trip.

Met friends who took us to this place for churros and chocolata. It was so enjoyable, packed with people and very delicious. Believe me when I say we have sampled many of these treats in the last 2 and 1/2 weeks in Spain and this was the best. Be sure and check this place out of you are in Madrid-worth...

Located at Sol station and opened daily for 24hrs. We went to this shop twice and has been missing it. The churros is crispy and hot and tasted good by itself. The chocolate was thick and we expected it to be sweet but surprisingly, it was not. One can drink the chocolate scoop by scoop without any issue. Also tried...

Very good thick chocolate and wonderful hot churros. I recommend at least once for your Madrid trip.
You go to the counter here to order and our husbands ordered four orders of churros. When it arrived, it was huge--about four churros per person. Order one for two people and then order another if you still want more. The chocolate is not that sweet--more like a dark chocolate which was fine. The churros were a bit salty which...

I read about Chocolateria San Gines in the Davidsbeenhere guide to Madrid and he made it sound fabulous. It is tucked at the end of a tiny street across from a church, nothing you'd find unless you were looking for it. You place your order at the counter and then sit down to have it delivered. The portion size is...

Very authentic place for churros and chocolate in Madrid. They're delicious and the atmosphere makes it even more enjoyable. It's a busy spot, but you get helped very quickly. I loved it!
This is a very famous chocolateria that was open 100 years ago. There the pictures of all famous people who were there. Very reasonable price and great chocolate and churros!
This chocolateria is worth a look for the historic interior alone, dating back to the 19th Century, it's a unique space. Late at night is the best time to stop by for a cup of chocolate which is really rather good. The churros (fried dough) are not special and probably should be skipped. If you visit during the day, you're...

This place was highly recommended by my niece who was going to school few years ago, trip advisor, and Rick Steve's travel book. It now appears to be run by a large impersonal corporate entity. The order was incorrect. Handles on the coffee cup where chipped the table was filthy, we had to wiped the table ourselves. The cashier and...
