We ordered pork ribs (described as tender on the menu) but they were not tender at all. We also ordered croquettes with ham which were tasty as well as patatas braviolis. Our local Spanish friend was quite disappointed in the potatoes that had a bit of a spicy tomato sauce on them. They were quite tasty but not what she expected. We later had patatas brava in Barcelona that did not include tomato puree and that version was absolutely delicious. Our order included one glass of wine and a bottle of mineral water. Overall it was okay but the ribs were a major disappointment. There is an English menu option. The bill came to $67 (Canadian).

Walked by and my wife look an internal terrace! So we went in and was shown to a table just off the terrace but in view of the chef prep area. Ordered four plates and waiter suggested we cut back to 3. 1st plate of tomatoes came and boy it was great. Chef Simona came with our second dish of oxtail cooked for 9 hours wrapped in a spring roll, again extremely tasty. Our 3rd plate of secreto Iberia had a lot to live up too and the peppers did! Chef Simona came out and recommended her dessert that had given her three weeks of sleepless nights in preparation. It was white chocolate with violet and a lemon cloud, out of this world! We finished our meal with a coffee and brandy and considering we’d had six glasses of wine, the bill was under €100. Great food, good service and fabulous value. We will retu4n.

What an amazing find, the courtyard dining was perfect, it was the best meal we had in Madrid by far, every single dish we had was so delicious and the presentation was top class. The chef Simona was so passionate and so very talented, her own creation of Jabon con Espuma desert was out of this world. Also our waitress was absolutely amazing she couldn’t do enough for us and nothing was too much trouble, she made our evening too. So if you are ever in Madrid you definitely must try this amazing restaurant.

Fast service, amazing food. The waiter was impecable, he did great suggestions and was very attentive. We didn't wait for a table too long and the price it's adjusted to the quality of the food they offer. Definitely a place to go back.

My family and I had Christmas Eve Dinner here. The food was very good! We really enjoyed the Crispy Prawns with Basil, the Big Shrimp Salad with Pineapple, Orange and Cod along with Sirloin with Truffle Sauce. All expertly prepared! The "soap" dessert was so fantastic! It was similar to a cheesecake with a lemon/lime soapy foam. It was so pretty and tasted even better! The Artisan Nougats were also fantastic. The service was a little lackluster but it was Christmas Eve. We had a really good experience and would recommend the food.

Really disappointed with our Christmas Eve dinner here. We were excited to go as the venue had been recommended online by a Madrid foodie website. There were several courses and all of them disappointing. The wait staff were overwhelmed by the number of diners and the food was very ordinary, banged down in front of you and felt mass-produced. Croquettes were "grey" and mushy (no crispiness here), the main beef course was lukewarm and barely cooked (think raw in parts), the wine was ordinary and all in all, hugely disappointing for almost Euros 200 for 2 people - which we had to pay in advance. Next time we will take our chances and find one of the more charming, local eateries available. We appreciated that it was Christmas Eve and a lot of places get booked up, hence our advance booking. But there was absolutely nothing to recommend the place.

This was one of the stops on a tapas tour I booked. We had the lavender cheesecake shaped like a soap with lemon- lime foam. It was gorgeous and absolutely delicious! Highly recommend a stop in to try this work of art dessert.

A group of friends book an evening meal with a fixed menu. Excellent food, but we had the feeling that the staff wanted us to leave asap. An unpleasant experience. The staff can destoy an excellent meal which the chef has done his utmost to prepare.

We found this place by chance while wandering the streets near the Palacio Real and were completely delighted to have done so. Food was amazing value for a family; delicious grilled veg, patatas bravas, a dish of jamon iberico, croquetas, and ox tail in pastry, plus a bottle of wine, 2 soft drinks, 3 puddings and a liqueur for E105. The kids loved the croquetas and patatas and (some!) of the veg, and we went back again a couple of days later. The staff were really friendly and the surroundings are charming. Don't miss it!

This was by far the best tapas experience I had in Spain. The food was exquisite and the environment was lovely. I would recommend this experience - a must for any foodie traveling in Madrid.

It´s been the greatest discovery of my trip to Spain! I´ve been taking my GF to different restaurants all over the place and this one was without any doubt the best one! First of all I´d like to recommend all tourists here to download an app called El Tenedor because if you do so you may get a 50% discount as I did! To be able to obtain this discount the only thing you must do is to book a table through this app (the discounts may change over time). I booked a table for 3 for lunch on a weekday and we ordered wine, beer and several tapas. The tapas were mollejas, croquetas de mejillón, chipirones encebollados, rabo de toro y verduras a la plancha. Everything was mouth watering! The service was attentive, friendly and helpful and what to say about their typical dessert the jabón! A white chocolate mousse with essence of violet and lemon foam! I´ll defo go back here! 10/10. A satisfied customer.

Came here with my mom for a late dinner, a spur of the moment choice not knowing it’s Michelin guide rated! Was pleasantly surprised with the quality for the reasonable price, and the dessert was unlike anything we’ve ever tasted before! Very friendly staff who gave on advice on what to see in Madrid. We’ll definitely be back!

Centro
Expansive plazas, local and foreign crowds, street performers, colorful lights, window shopping, restaurant signs promising the best paella, ham, and churros con chocolate- this is downtown Madrid, a collection of plazas interconnected by a network of side streets. Some of these side streets are wide pedestrian shopping routes, and some are hidden, so it's possible to duck in and out of the bustle as desired. The iconic Puerta del Sol is the giant crossroads of the city and a must-see attraction at any time of the day. The nearby Plaza Mayor, completely enclosed by historic red buildings, is an ideal place to grab a bite to eat outside, amidst scores of tables and people out for a stroll. Plaza Isabel II (also known as “Opera”) is smaller and a good meeting spot, and the stately Plaza del Oriente is the front yard of the Royal Palace. Centro can be touristy (pickpockets are unfortuately not unheard-of here), crowded, and sometimes gimmicky, but it is also the place to experience classic Madrid.
