This is a crowded, noisy tapas bar with superb food and a friendly atmosphere. Get there at 8.30 p.m. to be sure of a table. I could not believe that green peppers roasted with olive oil and salt could have such a fantastic flavour. The potatoes with a spicy sauce, mussels and clams are also well worth trying. The food... more

Make sure you arrive early (8:30pm) as this little gem of a restaurant doesn't take bookings- it's purely first come first serve. But definitely, worth the effort. Everything about the place is special. The tables and stools are cheek by jowl, wine is sipped from china bowls and the food is plain, simple and completely delicious! Very rustic, with no... more

The food is not that great, it's Ok but nothing compared to what you get to taste in Galicia. The atmosphere is really noisy if you don't mind that, of course that's something normal for a "Taberna". I think the worst part is the service, typically Spanish-like service, you know, don't bother to make any comments because they won't care.... more

Having looked at reviews before visiting Madrid, this was the place which most lived up to its billing. Somewhere between a tapas bar and a restaurant, the food is exceptionally good, particularly the seafood. The atmosphere is informal and lively, and the service friendly and efficient. The prices are very reasonable, including wine. It is a great place for lunch,... more

This is a great place for a date or for eating with a few friends. Both the food and the atmosphere were excellent. The pimientos de padrón (green peppers fried in olive oil and salted) were the best I've had and the albóndigas de bacalao (cod meatballs) were also outstanding. We also had an empañada and clams with mushrooms, both... more

Went here on the strength of previous reviews and were not disappointed. Very easy to find but off the main road this place is very small but was packed when we arrived. The waitress took our names and told us to come back in half an hour, handily there is a bar across the road and also one next door... more

On our first night in Madrid, a friend and I happened upon this place just before 9 pm. We got the last seats in the place, and as we ate we realized that people outside were staring at us like wistful orphans over the wattle screen in the window. By the time we left there was a line of 20... more

We went twice - each time ordering totally different things. You cannot beat this place. The tapas are fantastic. Literally everything we got was delicious. The restaurant is full of chic Madrilenos. Always packed. I recommend the sangria, too. more

This place is always crowded. I got there around 10pm and only waited a couple minutes to get a table, but after that, you probably wait a lot longer. It's the kind of place where I was OK with the fact that my wife and I shared a bigger table with 2 other people. Clearly a local place on some... more

place is all right, food is good, but portions are extremely small and waiters can get really rude making the whole dining experience highly uncomfortable. more
