First off, the mods really need to clean up the Napoli restaurant page, because this restaurant appears about three times with different names (one is misspelled). The full name of this restaurant is L'Antica Pizzeria Da Michele. We arrived on a rainy afternoon, and the restaurant was nearly empty. Hooray! The menu is uncomplicated and written in many languages. The... more

My husband an I queued for over one and a half hours. Another couple who received their ticket after us managed to be seated before us after a chat. Later number 43 was called and immediately number 46 (our number) was next. There were a few other incidents. We had to share a very small table. The service was quick... more

Stopped here based on Rick Steve’s recommendation. They only offer two kinds of pizza—Margharita and Marinara. We had one of each (normal size) which was more than enough for one person. The sauce was the best we have ever had. Although the crust was a little underdone and chewy, it was better than the one at Pizzeria Trianon. We each... more

I went to Da Michele last October when I was on a cruise. It was one of the hi-lights of my trip to Europe. I had read 'Eat, Pray, Love' and decided I must find this pizzeria. I took a cab and had the driver wait for me. I had been warned that Naples was not the safest of places... more

Any real pizza connoisseur knows that Da Michele is supposed to be the original and the best. The book "Eat, Pray, Love" and the upcoming movie adaptation with Julia Roberts as the central character, showcase Da Michele as the main destination of the "Eat" chapter. So when we decided to spend 4 days on the Amalfi coast (which is indescribably... more

I hear as this was a great, budget pizzeria - dozens of years ago. It is still very busy, with a long, well managed queue to get in, and quick, fair service once you do. Pizza is reasonably priced, good, hardly enough to justify 30+ minutes' queue. more

Sorry to all the 'Pizza Purists' but even the tastiest pizzas (and the ones here were okay) are not worth queuing in a Napoli side-street for. This place may be historic, but totally lacks atmosphere and finesse, shunting tourists trough like cattle. A basic restaurant with forgettable pizza. Find yourself a nice little trattoria where you can linger and enjoy... more

If you are serious about pizza you owe yourself a meal at this historic place. There are only two choices - margherita and marinara and both are outstanding. more

I loved the pizza but expected a slightly better service etc. The drink was served in a plasric cup, was asked to move tables because the waitrer decided they want to seat someone else where i was sitting, the staff were almost arrogant and i felt i wanted to run away as soon asi finished eating. it is more a... more

two choices pizza Margherita or Marinara, medium or large size, normal or double cheese. OK that makes it to 6 choices. Enough is enough, you can always order more than one ;-) Don't expect to get your own table, here you've to share spaces with locals and tourists, if you come to Italian dinner times there will be a long... more
