Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

The view alone attracted us here. We read about the booking system and turned up prepared to join the virtual queue at 15:00 or to take a ticket, however the hostess came at 14:30 to seat us with us being just stood in the physical...queue. We were told that only foccacia was available, which we were happy with. We had a little wait but they were very busy. Once we ordered, the food came quickly. We ordered the pesto (I believe this is freshly made that morning from the pesto making class) and the onion foccacia along with 2 cokes. Both were delicious, and the view made it even better. Our bill came to under €20 which we were very happy with considering the size of the foccacia and where we were located. Would definitely recommend it, and if you go a little later, you get the beautiful sunset viewMore

We attended the pesto making class after a recommendation from a friend who recently did it, and WOW we had a wonderful time. The staff was all super friendly, the view was spectacular and the pesto and other snacks served are well worth the price...of the class. The group was a little bigger than we anticipated (probably about 50 people) but didn't seem to be a bother for the staff or the experience. Hearing the owner's story at the end of how the restaurant came to be brought me to tears. 10/10 would recommend!More

We recently had the pleasure of dining at Nessum Dorma and absolutely loved it. Delicious fresh food, wonderful wine, and stunning sunset views, what more could you ask for. Download their app and it's much easier to secure a table for sunset.

Ah Italy! It does not disappoint. Cinque Terre is the culmination of 5 small towns that each boast their own wine and vineyards. The multi coloured buildings are breathtaking. Get ready to get your steps in! Tiny and narrow streets are part of the charm....Steep walks will get your quads and glutes activated, but I was able to navigate the area with a twisted knee so just go at your own pace. Besides, what's the rush? You're in Italy! Enjoy dining with spectacular food, wine and views. Oh, how I miss it already! Graci Cinque Terre!More

The pesto class at Nessun Dorma was most definitely worth the money! The host Simone was so engaging and fun even with there being a big class. The staff was very interactive, helpful, and efficient. The process and learning how to make the pesto was...great and the product was phenomenal. It was so enjoyable to eat our pesto with the fresh lunch that was also included! I could not eat deli meat so we were able to get the vegetarian option with had more cheeses and additional olives. Also, the wine that was included was plentiful! We had such a great time and highly recommend.More

This place has a beautiful view and the pesto class was wonderful. Family own and Mr Pesto himself teaches the class. It was so worth the climb and the wait for the experience of a special happening.

Felt there needed to be a review mentioning how busy and tourist-trappy this place is, because if we’d had any idea we wouldn’t have bothered climbing up to it. Basically, you need to fight through throngs of people all taking the same picture over the...bay and then, when you get to the top, there’s a sign on a post inviting you to scan a QR code and join the virtual queue to get in. You then need to wait around with everyone else (there were at least 50 people waiting) until someone leaves….which they’re hardly going to do before sunset. My advice would be to book a table at a restaurant high up in the village across from this bar, so that you’ll be guaranteed a table, a good view, dinner….and possibly some peace away from snap-happy tourists.More

The pesto class takes far longer than it needs to - most of the time spent waiting - and just isn't worth the EUR 80. The owner spends a literal 15 minutes explaining how he won the venue in a contest, and how all of...the locals are jealous of him as a result. The class itself is fairly basic and the instruction and information given is rudimentary. There are other restaurants in Manarola, and in the other villages, running pesto classes for EUR 40 pp, and when we walked past those classes looked just as good. However, the view is incredible and you have about a 50/50 chance of a table overlooking the water.More

We had a pesto class at Nessun Dorma. The whole experience was great and highly recommended. The owner weaves his story into the techniques he teaches for making the perfect pesto.

returning to Manarola, after five years with such a joy. During the pandemic, having contact with Simone and his family was important. This visit was with friends and our experience was incredible. There aren’t enough superlatives for the views and the ambience. The straight forward,...delicious, and beautiful food paired with local wine always lifts my spirits. Simone, his mother, his charming nephew, Michael, and all the others were so hospitable and made our visit truly memorable. The pesto experience on Sunday surpassed all of our expectations. Every visit is like being with family, and I am indebted to this incredible, resourceful, passionate man, for continuing to hold such a high standard of excellence and show genuine hospitality.More

Bunk Bruschetta. Not sure what happened here but they DO NOT know how to make Bruschetta and it is their main menu other than an equal sized alcohol menu! VERY disappointing. I don’t even know how to cook and make better Bruschetta. For Italy, I’m...disappointed!More

I was delighted with this experience! Neatened in the cliffs above a stunning vista of Manarola, Anyone who enjoys food will love it. I’ve made pesto often but learnt several tips to take it to the next level. On top of that, being a solo...Traveller, I was made very welcome and met new friends. Our host, the owner has run this restaurant since his early 20’s and is very passionate about his food and ensuring that everyone had a great experience. The pesto turned out superbly (must be the Italian ingredients plus the teaching and the ambience!) and the platter and wine to follow was a delicious meal - so generous. Loved it all - it’s a must!More

Anyone visiting Cinque Terre should take the pesto class here. It was so much fun , Simone is quite the entertainer. You learned how to make pesto and also his journey. Just realize that when you get in line there are a lot of people...taking the class so don’t try to cut the line going around. Every person leaving the class was talking about how much fun it wasMore

We booked a month in advance for the pesto making course and there was a huge line of people lined up to have lunch once our session ended. It would be absolutely fine to go by yourself.
