Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

For sure Riomaggiore is a touristic place but that does not justify to serve food of such a bad quality . We started with a tomato soup which was okay, for main we had ordered a "Tagliolini freschi al nero di seppia" and the pasta...seemed all other than fresh, but the real catastrophe was a potion of Fish and Chips. Fish and chips is a rather easy dish and can be tasteful with a good batter, what we got served here was absolutely the opposite, some kind of industrial product were the fish was in a thick layer of breadcrumbs. No need to say that we didn't finished the meal.More

This is an easy-going Pizzeria Restaurant which serves decent food at reasonable prices for a casual dining experience. We found the waitress to be polite, attentive and the lady also spoke great English - we speak a little Italian too, to try and be respectful...while staying here in Italy. We had pizza, some gnocchi, escalope and Milanese Chicken plus dessert. It was all fine. While not the most memorable dishes we’ve ever had in our lives, the whole experience was pleasant. There are not many restaurants to choose from in Riomaggiore and, having chosen to dine early at around 6:30pm, people were queuing for a table by the time we left - even on 1 November, hardly high-season! Nevertheless, this is in itself a good sign. I would recommend this for an evening meal providing you do not want haute-cuisine but instead are happy with mainstream Italian dishes. We did and it was just fine. One last note: they’ve stopped serving gluten-free pizza. Earlier reviews mentioned senza-gluten but the waitress explained this is no longer available, and why. The hospitality of the employees, especially the lady who served us, is very disappointing. Not at all professional and didn't even want to take into account the customer's complaint. The food does not reach the level of expectations, it is not special, but not bad...either.More

Amazing service, and best Carbonara ever. Only complaint is that it was kind of a small portion, but maybe we were just super hungry and food was really good:)

I am Celiac and I need to worry about gluten-free. The gluten-free pizza with chicken peppers and onions was fantastic. We had to wait in line for about 20 minutes as they do not take reservations but TOTALLY worth it. Staff were excellent at describing...the options and were very knowledgeable noting that airborne gluten could be present as they prepare lots of regular pizza too.More

There are not many options to eat, even in the summer, in Riomaggiore. On our first night it was hard to find a table for four; everything had been booked up and every open place was full. We were able to get a table at...Veciu Muin. Our waitress, Martina, was a pleasure and made our meal more pleasant. We tried three different pizzas and the fried calamari, which were all okay (I’ve had worse). They did not have Campari (?!) and the Aperol Spritz was not up to the standard we have come expect in Italy. The wine, a local rose (not a popular option in Italy) was very acidic. We were glad to eat after a long day, but are unlikely to repeat this restaurant in the next few days we are here.More

Lovely, casual dining. The outside tables were all full so we were seated downstairs where the air conditioning kept us lovely and cool. Our food was delicious and our drinks arrived promptly.

Delicious gluten free (coeliac) food and staff are friendly and helpful. My friend had non gluten free food and found the quality was great too! Very cheap for the area as well! I had GF lasagne but other options available too.

We had dinner here twice, great place for with very accomodating and friendly staff, if there’s no room outside or inside ground floor ask to be seated in the cantina downstairs….. it’s a cool and cosy space. The service was very efficient and the food...was great value for money considering the location.More

This place is just fine. Nothing special at all. The only redeeming part of the meal was the pesto pasta and the limoncello spritz, both of which were pretty good. The salad with chicken lacked any flavor. We were happy to have a gluten free...pizza option, but the dough was clearly store bought and just okay. This is a place fine if you don’t have better options but I wouldn’t choose to go here if I didn’t have to.More
