The best chirashi I've ever had. There's not much room inside, but service is quick and nice. Cook Shiro talks with customers and is a very enjoyable person.
This place is tiny with people queueing out into the street. You need to order before you sit down (I made a big faux pas because they don't speak much English). The sushi is great - you can watch the chef at work and he is the world's hardest working man. The place is absolutely mad, frenetic and loud. This is... More
It's super popular (get here early if you don't want to wait - they open at 6pm) and Shiro makes the sushi as fast as any sushi chef I've ever seen. You order before you sit - and after you order, they sit you at one of their 8 small tables (or at the sushi bar). It's possible it's one... More
We made an effort to hunt this place down only to find it gutted with plasterers etc renovating it. I have no idea if the restaurant is being renovated to come back or a new restaurant is going in but it's closed until at least the 30th August 2013.
Run by the Japanese chef this place does look authentic and has almost all feature of traditional Japanese restaurant. The food was good and fresh. Miso soup was well prepared and sushi had the right rice to fish ratio. We just came from Japan so it was a nice homage to our memories. The food is a bit more on... More

Shiro stands right there in the Top 3 sushi places in Milano, possibly at the first place if you consider price/quality ratio - stunning. We had sushi, sashimi, seeweed salad, fried fish and chicken skewer - all not less than amazing. The place itself is very straightforward, nothing posh, and very typical. Shiro was actually there preparing sushi for us,... More
After having tried many sushi places in Milan, I can say without any doubt that Poporoya is the best by far. The place is very small but definitely worth waiting in a queue! We ate Uramaki-don, California rolls and Toki-don, the food is literally melting in the mouth! Great prices as well.
If you are looking for an authentic sushi that is made from a Japanese sushi chef, this is the place. There are a variety of sushi choices and the taste is no different from what you eat in most Asia's Japanese Sushi bar. After a sumptuous meal, you can do some Japanese grocery shopping before making payment as well. The... More
So i'm an Aupair staying here in Milan and decided one night I wanted sushi. I found this place here on trip advisor but they directed me to the tiny shop/take away thingy, not quite sure what it was since I didn't have the patience to wait in the ridiculously long que. Anyways as I went across the street to... More
