At first glance this place looks appealing, tucked in a corner just over a little canal bridge and lit just so. But once you settle in you realize you've fallen into another Venice trap. We went here on our anniversary looking for a memorable experience but all we will remember about it is how we got taken. The service was... more
Food was okay, but service was slow. We were seating in the back, partially because we didn't have a reservation, but the staff seemed to have forgotten about us. Bring cash - no credit cards accepted. If you get seated in the back, leave right away. Bad atmosphere. more
As some reviewers have mentioned, restaurants can be up or down depending on the day (or the reviewer). We were very happy with our dinner at Vino Vino. For Venice, we thought it a good value with a convenient location. The restaurant was very busy but the service didn't suffer and I would definitely return. more
We went here after a review in the guide books we bought. I had chicken drumsticks in lemon & rosemary, with a few roasties. My other half had liver & onions with pollenta . We ordered 1 side of veg, no starters, and 2 glasses of wine (the measures in Venice are tiny). The portion sizes are small, and the... more
The goatee'd gentleman that "waited" on us on our first, and last, visit to VinoVino might as well have been a phantom. We sit down, he leaves the menu without a word, and doesn't come back for some time (10, 15 minutes). When he DOES come back, he whips out the pad and pen and waits for us to order... more
We dined at Vino Vino during a weeklong stay in Venice. Without a doubt, this was the worst food and the worst service we received during our entire stay. Vino Vino is featured in several guidebooks, and my guess is that the staff and chef have grown lazy and cynical with the "guaranteed" business that comes from being in a... more
Not worth your money at all! The food has no taste, they lie about what's on the menu just to get your business. When my "traveling buddy" ordered something that she wanted, after asking if it was made a certain way, it wasn't. Then when we asked if we could pay with a credit card another waiter said yes, then... more
We came here after attending the opera one evening. This is not a a big restaurant at all, so what we did was we ran out before everyone else left the Opera and snatched a table here. This restaurant was around the corner form La Fenice, and we knew we wanted to come here before we went into the peformance.... more
I read great things about this restaurant, but was surprised. I cannot believe we were in Venice and tried to go to restaurants that were not tourist traps. Vino Vino was on a list of restaurants that my family was going to visit while in Venice. We were greatly disappointed. Who would think that our meals would be made in... more
