This has a reputation for Veronese food and the selection of boiled meats in a trolley reminded me of Hannibal Lecter - brains anyone? The staff at our hotel recommended the Greppia to us and their faith in it was fully justified. It serves Veronese specialities of excellent quality in a courtyard down an alley near the Piazza del Erbe and five minutes walk from the Arena. Exactly the place we had been looking for: Nice outside seating in a not so busy side street of Via Mazzini, great food (especially the homemade pasta is excellent). Overall great and not a tourist trap like most other restaurants in downtown Verona. more
