Fabulous food (definitely try the mushroom strudel!!) but really what stood out was the warm welcome and service. As a single traveler it can be a little weird dining alone...but they treated me like family!

We ate here on our first night in Florence and were not disappointed. The service was a little slow at times, but the waiters were very friendly and helpful and the portions were substantial, so it worked out quite well! I started with tripe gratin from the specials menu; it was the first time I'd tried tripe and it was... More

Our compliments for trying something out of your comfort zone! That's what eating out should be about, being adventurous .. and a good bottle of Chianti always helps. We hope to see you maybe one day again, and in the meantime stay with us on facebook. Thank you so much for taking the time to comment. More

Brilliant first night in Florence, this restaurant was just round the corner and we decided to give it a go. It was very busy on a Wednesday night but we got a table for two without a reservation. It was just a lovely experience from start to finish, lovely service and very helpful staff, the best homemade pasta. The desert... More

Aldo makes all the desserts, and has a fine hand. We make them all fresh and so don't over exaggerate numbers, as the next day we will be making some different items. But we always have something good to finish you meal with! So pleased that you enjoyed your experience. More

On a recent Thursday evening I made an early exit from a conference to decompress and have a bit of dinner, and fortunately my hotel recommended Accademia. It is a busy, but friendly and attentive, place on Piazza San Marco, drawing a crowd of both tourists and locals. A largeish bus-tour group occupied a portion of the place when I... More

Booking is always a good idea - we really dislike having to turn anyone away. And we are delighted that you enjoyed the company of your fellow diners - that is almost a must in Italy. We very much look forward to your next conference - and visit to Ristorante Accademia. More

We had an extraordinary dining experience at this lovely, neighborhood place in San Lorenzo. Superb food, service and reasonably priced wine. Everything was just as it should be for a perfect causal Florentine dinner. Also reasonably priced higher end wine- we had a amazing 2005 Barolo for E40. Highly recommended.

Everything on the menu is "a la cart" and pricey. Food is good, but not great. They charge you for utensils!

"À la carte (pron.: /ælæˈkɑrt/)[1] is a French language loan phrase meaning "according to the menu", " Yep, we have a menu, with prices, and your order from it! Ahem - we do not charge anyone for "utensils"! We do have a "cover charge" per person of €2.00. We note that you are from the US. We do not have... More

My wife and I were on vacations, we come from Mexico and we were looking for some traditional home-style Italian restaurant. This restaurant was recommended at the front desk of our Hotel, the Due Fontane. They told us that many locals use to eat there, and that we were going to pay exactly for what we ask for. So we... Our hotel sent us here on day one for lunch. We ordered an antipasti plate which was fine but not particularly special. We then waited almost 45 min for our pasta entrees. During this time many other people came in ordered main courses and were served. We are not sure why it took so long to get our meals out... More

What a find, recommended by our hotel staff and definitely worth a visit. Excellent service, the staff made us welcome immediately and we even had free limoncello at the end of the meal. Lovely food and lovely atmosphere.

We are so pleased that you enjoyed. The only way to finish a really good meal is a shot glass of ice cold limoncello! Glad that you enjoyed it. More

Great meal, wonderful atmosphere, great location, good prices. We walked from our hotel and were seated immediately, each of our meals was enjoyable and tasty. Service was courteous, not rushed at all. small place so you need a reservation if you get there later than 730pm.
